Summary

I'm done being the good girl…

So much sacrifice. One betrayal too many.

This bloodsucker has had enough.

And with this strange dragon-shifter as my lover and partner, who is going to stop me?

My old team has tried. They don't stand a chance.

I don't want to be a queen, anymore. I want to be a goddess.

Who's going to stop me? You? Give me your best shot.

But there's one thing that I can't quite shake. Why does this dragon have so much control over me? Why can't I resist him?

Do I even want to resist him?

Bloody Brilliance is the fifth book in The Fury of a Vampire Witch. You've met Mercy before in The Legacy of a Vampire Witch and The Blood Witch Saga. She's fought against devils and demons, insidious witches, and old-world vampires. When she returns to Exeter, where she grew up as a girl, she'll find enemies even bigger and badder than anything she's ever faced before.

A great series for fans of the True Blood / Sookie Stackhouse novels or the Underworld franchise to sink their fangs into. The Fury of a Vampire Witch features a dark and twisty romance, action that could even get a vampire's heart pumping, and a snarky badass heroine.

Good bad girl gone really bad gone good

I was holding my breath waiting to see where Mercy would go after the bombshell ending of the last book, and Theophilus did not disappoint. After all her hard work to save everyone and the awful personal betrayal, Mercy says "F" it, and man can she do selfish and bad. But is it really her? What happened to the woman/witch/vampire determined to live at peace with the humans, protect the weak, etc? Even Mercy doesn't know. It was frightening, painful, and yet exhilarating to watch her struggle to overcome her darker self and the wicked dragon influencing her. This is another fantastic book in the Fury of a Vampire Witch series, and let me say, the creativeness and superior world-building skills of the author continue to amaze me and keep me hanging on for every new book he writes.

I had previously read the ebook and I loved the audiobook even more than the written word. The narrator does such a good job capturing Mercy's snark and humor, voicing the puns, and giving emotional delivery to her struggle to recover herself. A++ job.

I received a free copy of the audiobook and am voluntarily leaving this honest review.

Excellent

Excellent. Those pesky dragon sword gatekeepers are at it again. Adam and a new guy start to save the day. Seb is worth following - I liked his intro. The underground comes back together and for a brief moment all is well but I'm sure its only temporary as Mercy's world is always full of chaos. Love this series. The best so far.

Another exhilarating ride in Mercy Brown's story

After reading numerous books by Theophilus Monroe, it's astounding that he still manages to surprise me! The way he throws unexpected twists in the plot leaves me speechless with admiration for his cunning. I mean, who could have foreseen that Mercy would take such bold action? ...Okay, I was pleasantly surprised!

Following the explosive conclusion of the last book in this series, which intensified my dislike for Ladinas and Alice with each passing moment, I began this one with bated breath, uncertain of how it would unfold. The suspense of not knowing what the author has in store for us with each character, or what new surprise he will conjure from his magician's hat, kept me on the edge of my seat. Even after encountering all the bizarre, seemingly impossible characters Mr. Monroe has introduced and manipulated to his advantage, I never expected Sebastian.

As is customary with Theophilus Monroe's books, his humor is infectious, his characters are bold and unpredictable, and you'll never experience a dull moment with his stories. So, buckle up and prepare for an exhilarating ride—it will be well worth it.
