About this listen

An unsinkable ship. A blood-soaked secret. And something hungry beneath the decks.

April 10th, 1912: Titanic begins her maiden voyage with an ancient evil hiding deep in her cargo hold. By the time the sun rises on the second day, passengers are missing, drained of blood, or returning with a hunger they can’t explain.

Something is feeding in the dark below deck.

Dr. Benjamin York, a weary assistant surgeon, only wants a fresh start—but a strange illness spreading through steerage demands his attention. Fiona Lynch, a third-class passenger fleeing her past, just wants to get her son to safety—but the ship is filling with shadows.

Together, they uncover a terrifying truth: a monstrous presence is turning Titanic’s final hours into a slaughter.

Blood & Salt is a gripping blend of supernatural horror and historical tragedy—an alternate history where vampires stalk the Ship of Dreams.

I actually loved this book, I’m a big fan of titanic and find everything about it interesting. Now vampires are always a bit hit and miss. This one was a hit! The author does a great job introducing you to some of the passengers and crew and all the likely candidates you will find in the titanic along with the vampires that lurk. You have all the true to fact parts of the titanic along with the back story of the ships doctor and steerage passenger Fiona and her son. It’s a great read!

A bloody good time

I enjoyed this book. It had a good sense of dread and tension throughout. There were multiple POVs which kept the pace going, but did not make it difficult to follow. I enjoyed the representation of the Vampires, harking back to old lore; travelling by evaporating smoke, needing to sleep on sacred soil, growing and using fans to create more undead.

I enjoyed the Titanic aspect, and we met many characters and Titanic fan would be familiar with, such as Ismay.

Plenty of gore at the end, but the resolution was a little too sweet for me, I wanted more grief.
