BOLD AND SHOCKING, BLOOD ORANGE WILL HOLD YOU IN ITS GRIP UNTIL ITS FINAL, HEARTSTOPPING CONCLUSION.

Alison has it all. A doting husband, adorable daughter, and a career on the rise - she's just been given her first murder case to defend. But all is never as it seems...

Just one more night. Then I'll end it.

Alison drinks too much. She's neglecting her family. And she's having an affair with a colleague whose taste for pushing boundaries may be more than she can handle.

I did it. I killed him. I should be locked up.

Alison's client doesn't deny that she stabbed her husband - she wants to plead guilty. And yet something about her story is deeply amiss. Saving this woman may be the first step to Alison saving herself.

I'm watching you. I know what you're doing.

But someone knows Alison's secrets. Someone who wants to make her pay for what she's done, and who won't stop until she's lost everything....

Critic reviews

Harriet Tyce brings a new layer of visceral, addictive dark to domestic noir. Obsession, revenge, lust and murder play out on the pages as a female barrister tries to hold her life together while her personality tries to tear it apart. At once shocking and riveting, I simply couldn't stop reading. Bravo (Sarah Pinborough)
A classy thriller with complex and compelling characters (Clare Mackintosh)
A deeply flawed but relatable heroine who makes the mistakes we all dread making ... I devoured it with white knuckles. Vivid, deft storytelling that holds a knife to your throat all the way through and makes your blood curdle. Coruscating! (Veronica Henry)
So dark and compelling. It deserves to fly off the shelves. (Melanie McGrath)

Kept me completely engrossed from beginning to end. Some thoroughly un-likeable characters but a good story, well read.

I think this book would have been good had it not been read as a constant whine. Even the little girl is portrayed as constantly whiney- was hard to get through.

Did not enjoy narration at all

A book that raises eyebrows, makes you think and gives you great descriptive scene setting good for the imagination

Excellent dark novel with believable narcissistic characters destroying those around them at any price. Moorish.
Really well narrated by Julie Teal

I've seen some rather sniffy reviews of this and it's true it's not a piece of high literature but it is a really good yarn.
The description of the all consuming life at the criminal bar including 'the just going out for one' heavy drinking is painfully accurate and so are *aspects* of the relationships between the men and women. Kept me listening.

Entertaining
