most of the characters in this are fairly well drawn, the story is good. the setting of the scene was good. however this is exactly the sort of story that makes woman believe that its OK for a man to take charge and not listen to no. He could have protected her, won her back without constantly ignoring her no. and then she gives in (imagine me facepalming just now). lets just perpetuate the myth that if I ride roughshod over a woman its ok because she really wants me. This version of Cooper also didnt tally with the child version. oh and it dragged on a bit. I think a lot of folk will hate this review as it seems a popular book. I just think we've moved on from this dynamic

Loved the story line. love excitement, the thrill of the chase and animals and nature, what more can you want.

the first half was a little pedestrian at times but the story became better towards the end. I struggled with the narrator; many times I was unsure which character was speaking. I would avoid him in the future
