Summary
The lost love that’s always haunted her is about to make an unexpected return....
Caroline Wilton has no time for romance. She’s too busy running her family’s bar to even think about dating. She’s also one of Starfall Point’s resident witches, responsible for keeping the local ghost population in check.
But even the most magical of witches can use a shoulder to lean on, which is what happens when Ben Hoult, the handsome doctor she never quite got over, walks back into her life. Ben is a single dad now, and as he and Caroline reconnect, they discover that they both have a knack for helping and protecting the people near and dear to them.
Soon they’re working together to unravel a centuries-old murder, and Caroline has to face the wrath of angry ghosts...and the uncertainty of opening her heart back up to love. She’s not sure which one is worse. All she knows is that keeping her heart safe will take every ounce of magic she’s got.

Harper weaves a spellbinding narrative that seamlessly blends the magical with the romantic. The chemistry between Caroline and Ben is palpable, and their shared talent for protecting loved ones adds a compelling layer to the story. The overarching plot, involving a centuries-old murder mystery, provides a thrilling backdrop, keeping readers hooked from start to finish.
One of the standout elements of "Big Witch Energy" is its cast of characters. While Caroline's family is portrayed as both annoying and foolish, these quirks add a touch of relatability to the fantastical setting. Poor Caroline having to suffer the laziness of her two brothers, the obliviousness of her put-upon mother, and the ignorance of her father.
Unfortunately in this instalment the narrator's voice was still so nasal and piercing. She does calmer voices throughout for other characters, I just hope for the next book she uses the nicer voice throughout.
The characters were a bit more funny herein book two, and the scenes were fleshed out, unlike the info dumps of book one. So the first book centred around Riley as the main character, and the second book centres around Caroline. I’m guessing the third book will have Alice as the main character, and I’m interested to see who her love interest man will be. Or woman? We shall see.
Over all "Big Witch Energy" proves to be a delightful continuation of Molly Harper's magical series. The engaging narrative, well-crafted characters, and a hint of mystery create a spellbinding reading experience. As readers eagerly await the next book, the promise of exploring Alice's story adds an extra layer of anticipation, ensuring the series maintains its enchanting allure.
