Summary

Some people are born with a silver spoon in their mouths and lady luck tucked into their back pocket. Then there's people like me, who live to survive. Survive loss. Survive loneliness. Survive the black tar that swallows you whole, stealing everything and anything that could resemble a piece of happiness. They try and fail, try again and fail even harder. Starting life's never ending cycle of wash, rinse, and repeat.

That's me. Or it was. Ten years I wandered through life. Through 10 towns. Through 10 men. Then, I didn't anymore. A hellacious storm came and ripped everything away, leaving me stripped bare for the most beautiful man. A man part of the Corrupt Chaos Motorcycle club, who not only saved my life but rescued my soul. Or so it may seem from the outside. On the inside, it's not that simple. Life never is.

It's dirty.

It's ugly.

And it's painstakingly relentless.

I'm Magdalene Murdock and this is my story.

Beyond her words

Any additional comments?

I really like this audiobook. Great story about two broken people who come together and help pull each other out of the darkness. The characters are great and can't wait to see next in this series. Great audiobook

Awesome narration for hot story

Story of Magdalene with lots of tragedy in her past is saved by Lachlan, the Scottish fireman. Sounds like a basic story right? Wrong- there was so much going on here, both with the relationship between Magdalene and Lachlan and their relationships with his daughter, other members of his MC, and many others. I couldn't get enough of this story and especially Lachlan. This narrator absolutely nails this performance. To be able to differentiate the ladies so well and then to do a male so convincingly that it made me swoon to his Scottish accent every time- Amazing!! I am not a regular to the 5 star recommendation club, but this story made me give up sleep for more of figuring out all of the nuances and dynamics playing out, never bored me, and again the narrator just blew it out of the water. If I had to give any criticism, during the first half of the book, if Magdalene said she lost time i.e.-"it could've been seconds, minutes, hours- who knows", one more time I was going to scream- fortunately as I said that in my head, it didn't happen again. And for that to be my only complaint- then obviously I give this a definite high priority on the TBR list.

I received this book for free in exchange for an honest review.

Fun roller coaster ride with a lot of twists!

This book just knocked me down! The ending was just...just...yeah, I have no words...ok I have 5 word....That was just mean, Bink!! (In a good way of course)

Mags is a very strong but lonely & lost character. She knows loss and instead of dealing with it, she just runs from it. Lachlan is a Biker, Firefighter and good dad but he is also very emotionally damaged. Oh and did I forget Scottish?? Yep, pretty much a complete ball of hotness! These two spend all their time trying not to have any feelings for each other but of course that's not always easy. This story started off a bit slow but still had me staying up until 3am finishing it!

The narrator is phenomenal! Tracy Marks is on my instant buy list. I have listened to many books I never would have because she is the narrator. I just love her voice, the inflections in her characters voices and her pace is perfect. In this book she does an awesome job at a Scottish male. Just another reason to love her work! She adds an extra Star to every book she narrates!

DELIVERED & WENT WAY BEYOND MY EXPECTATIONS

It's all been said before.... so all I can add is that I love JR Ward's Black Dagger Brotherhood and anything Sylvia Day writes so A N Y T I M E a new book by one of them is released I drop my present listen like a hot potato without even a backwards thought eager to hear what's new from my favorite Authors. However, I just couldn't do it with this awesome listen as it held me captive until the HEA's because the character's came alive in the theater of my mind as I visualized all the various interactions, was moved by the heartbreaking stories and pleaded with the Author to give Mags and Lachlan the love that they so desperately needed and deserved.

Dual POV's often told as if the characters were talking and including you in the story, a character driven plot - their lives, tribulations, heartache and loves and the skilled narrator was the Puppetmaster who brought everything to life. Many voices, both genders, a Scottish accent, an intense plot and some emotional and highly charged scenes were all smoothly accomplished by Tracy Marks who made this such a wonderful listen.

Worth a credit? Does it really need answering..... coz I think you've already guessed that I'm going to say YES.

Footnote - what the Hell were they thinking with the cover? It's a Biker MC story.... hot sexy Alpha types and Mags was an insecure Strawberry Blonde and not a Redheaded Vixen.... so tut tut, thumbs down and boooo for the cover folks.

5 Fantastic Stars !!

First of all I loved, loved, loved this book. I loved Lachlan, a Scottish Biker with a heart of gold and is an amazing father (Swoon) The way he helped Mags through everything and never wanted to leave her side just made me melt. Lachlan daughter Bridgett was also an amazing girl, I just fell in love with her, and they way she was with Mags.

The abuse the three of them all dealt with over the years is very hard to hear, and is very heartbreaking but the way they start to over come it was amazing. Once I started this book I just could not stop, this story had me from chapter 1. Hands down a great book and I can't wait for more.

Tracy Marks did a fantastic job with the narration of this book, her Scottish accent was perfect! If I had more then 5 stars I would give them to her for her performance with this book.

Outstanding narration story not so great

Any additional comments?

This story has a wonderful plot with wonderful characters that I really liked. At times I thought it was over the top. It starts out slow but get better as you go along. I thought OK now we might be talking until we get almost to the end and that was an over kill for me. To be perfectly honest if it had not been for the narrator I most likely would not have finished this audio. It just has to much filler this would have been a better story had it been cut back and not given so much facts.
Let start with what I really liked about this audio.

The narrator Tracy Marks did a wonderful outstanding job of narration. I loved her accents and her many different voice. There are no background noises her tones were even, clear and understandable. There were no high or low parts at all in the audio. Her voice is clear, smooth and wonderful. It was very easy to know who was talking and what emotion they were feeling at any given time. Her male voices were just as pleasant as her female voices. To be honest if it wasn’t for her I would not have finished this audio. She really made the characters come to life from Mag to Lachlan. Each voice was better than the last. I was very surprised that one person could go from one voice which was soft to a very hard male voice. Lachlan was truly a wonderful voice I had to trouble understanding what he was saying. It was very male voice that held power the tone for him was dead on. The only issue I had with her narration was when the author said the character whispered she used the normal voice and didn’t lower it into a whisper. With that said I can only say Ms. Marks truly made this audio a wonderful listen.

Mag I really liked her but could not understand why she felt everything was her fault. No background was given that she had ever been abused which would have made someone this unsure about their selves. Beside a mother that never wanted her and gave her to her grandmother when she was born there are no bad things done to her until her grandmother died and her mother came back. That still would not have made her feel the way she did. It would have made her mad, sad along with depressed but not the way the author has her. With each arm being in a cast it was hard to believe she did a few things the author said she did. There were a few other things that I found hard to believe. I did like Mag when she wasn’t feeling sorry for herself. She could be so caring, fun loving and a lot of fun making people smile. She even let her temper get out one time. I had to laugh as she put a few people in their places.

Lachlan is your strong alpha male who said what he means and will tear someone apart if they get in his way or harms those he loves. There is nothing I didn’t like about this man he is a biker, strong, just so sweet when he isn’t being the tough kick butt kind of person, he is an outstanding father along with being one hot hunk of a male. I didn’t understand his sexual issue. I do understand his wife was mean and cut him down where it hurts the most in his manhood. For a strong biker dude I would think he would have put her straight a long time ago. I understand staying married why you child is young and trying to make your marriage work. By the time the child was in their teens there was no reason to stay married. I can just see my husband letting me stay after the things she has done with other men. He would have told me there is the door so on and so on. I didn’t understand the vomiting issue it was never really explained and I really do not feel this macho man would have these types of issues. I can understand him being unsure of his self and how good he was with the act of love but these issues were just too much and unbelievable.

I loved Whiskey she was a dream, a sweet women who told it like it was. He husband is a dream his job is to keep the peace between the members. Lachlan daughter is a sweet heart that any parent would be honored to have. There really were some wonderful supporting characters which added so much to this story. For the most part it really does have a great plot but the author missed her mark when she went over the top on so many issues. The narrator made this story with her strong wonderful voices that pulls you in.

I'm a fan. A BIG NEW FAN!

Any additional comments?

I loved this book. I mean, I absolutely loved this book! Both Mags and Smoke were flawed and insecure and the progression of their relationship was PERFECT!

I read some reviewers who thought the book lacked eroticism. That is true. However, both Mags and Smoke needed to find their voices and a physical relationship too soon would not have been true to the characters.

The narration was stellar! I could not believe it was all voiced by one person.

I was unaware of this author, this narrator or the Corrupt Chaos series but count me in as a fan!

Wonderful MC book!

How much do I love Bink? Bunches and bunches! I was so excited to see that she had decided to do an audio release of Beyond Her Words and to see (hear) that Tracy Marks did such a marvelous job on the accent! I hope that more of her books will be released on audio!
