Talia Hibbert meets Carley Fortune in this swoon-worthy story of love and friendship in the age of social media - where what you see might not be all you get.

Dr Jojo has it all figured out. Or so it seems to her Instagram followers, who love her no-nonsense advice about men, self-love, dating and sex.

But behind the camera, it's a different story - she's in love with her best friend, Ezra, and he doesn't feel the same way.

Committed to moving on, Jo soon finds the perfect distraction - sweet, shy and sexy writer Malcolm. As the pair begin to date, sparks fly, and Jo's hard exterior begins to soften.

But when she discovers her feelings for Ezra aren't as unrequited as she thought, Jo finds herself with a tough decision to make. Will she seize the opportunity for romance with her best friend, or is new love the path to her happily ever after?

Overall, it was good listen and touched on a lot of current topics. Nothing to criticise about the story.

How the characters mental health was impacted.

I enjoyed this story & could relate to Dr. Jo. I also enjoyed Mal. Both narrators did a good job and made this listen enjoyable. Ezra however left much to be desired.

******SPOILER*******

I just didn’t get Ezra’s character. I wish we’d had his POV/narrative chapters to have some more insight. Why did he publicly date all those other women & friend zone Jo for years if he loved her? When did he actually fall in love with her?

I also didn’t see Ezra’s redeeming qualities. Sure, he’s wealthy & attractive but what makes him likeable & loveable? I honestly don’t get why Jo has been friends with him for so long or how she could still love a man who had dated her bully.

He seriously rubbed me the wrong way.

A nice read
