About this listen

Mia Collins has an amazing life. She was popular in high school, and college is off to a great start. Everything seems perfect until she goes home for the break and everything changes....

One night sets everything in motion and Mia's world begins to fall apart. She's stunned that the life she thought she knew was all a lie. After she loses her family, she's forced to start over. This time though, she vows to not let anyone get close to her again - to not get hurt again.

But life has a funny way of doing the opposite of what you ask for....

Colton Hunter is the captain and quarterback of a winning team. With killer looks and so much money he doesn't need his football scholarship, you'd think that he would have nothing to worry about.

But behind his picture-perfect life lurks a dark secret - something that Colton has been forced to keep to himself for fear of what happens if he speaks out. Torn up inside by the deceit, he shuts everyone out, not allowing anyone to get close enough to see what hides behind the mask...

That is until a girl crosses his path, shaking his resolve and forcing him to realize he doesn't have to be strong all the time.

I really enjoyed listening to this, and would have given it 5 stars if it were longer, the ending just seemed so rushed and it’s such a shame as the author could have made so much more of this book and I would have liked to hear more. The narrators were really good, particularly the male. Sadly I won’t be buying the next one in the series at £7.99 for 5 hours.

Too short

Would have been a 4 but can authors stop it with making girls so whiney and pathetic *eye roll*
A. Why is there always a processive, pathetic ex-girlfriend circling around like a vulture?
B. The main female character can have a back bone. They can ask questions and not jump to conclusions and run off crying at every given opportunity, SURELY?
It's 2025 can we please end these stereotypes and book tropes.
Regardless to this little rant, I enjoyed the storyline and loved the romance between Mia and Colton. I would recommend giving this book a go. It's an easy and quick listen and you'll enjoy it.

Cute secondary school romance, that could last a lifetime. Short but sweet. Big life changes and a few drinks later, a perfect match.

best suited for teenagers

This was a very boring romance novel. Nothing original except the maybe waiting till marriage part. And there was no ending. Not sure if there will be one in the next book but from the blurb it is about different characters so not counting on it so disappointing. I chose this based on the fantastic female narrator. She was too good for this. Male narrator wasn’t it, not at all.
