Really enjoyed!

This is the second book in the series. Jo continues to develop both in character and power. Her relationship with Caius also progresses! I really enjoyed the story of this book and the descriptions of the strange world and creatures. The narration is also excellent. Definitely recommend, but need to listen to the books in order!

So good

Jo is sick and tired of playing by the rules and doing what’s she told so she starts to learn how to control her powers and learn to fight. The only thing she can’t deny are her feelings for Caius even though it can have consequences far beyond her control. Just love this series and both books are added to my listen too again.

Supernatural thriller with comedy and romance

OMG, this book was even better than the first one. Jo's and Chairs mission evolved into a journey of a lifetime. They are no longer alone. The Reapers and Demon borned were forced to work together, which is unheard of to ensure the dagger was found. This book finally gave Elijah, Jo's deadbeat dad an appearance and the shocking results of that union. It also showed Chaos true heritage and the battle that will insue. The book was funny, heartbreaking, joyful, and showed true loyalty and grit from the characters involved. As the first book, the narrators were awesome and right on the money. I can't wait to get my hands on the next book in series. Excellent story, realistic characters, unexpected events and love pulled me deep into this audiobook and still have me in it's grasp. 5 Stars indeed.

Exciting second book in the series

This second book in the series is just as good, if not better than the first. As the title suggests the theme of betrayal runs through various threads in the story. It is a unique, thrilling and sometimes heart wrenching story laced with action, battles, deceit, romance and prophecy. As the war prophesied by the Morrigan seems to be drawing nearer and nearer, Joe, Caius and their allies continue to try to find a solution to the Lost, while at the same time having to fight for their own survival. The romance between Jo and Caius deepens in this story and there are a few surprises and revelations that often create more complications than solutions. I loved how Joe has begun to fully embrace her power and how new aspects of it are being slowly revealed. I also love the cat and can’t wait to see if she has a bigger role to play in the next book. The narrators of the audiobook, Suzanne T. Fortin & Zachary Johnson, did a great job for bringing the story to life and giving the characters individual voices that suits the characters well. This is a fast action story with characters you easily become attached and an ending that leaves you dying for the next in the series.

loved this

I really like alot of books but don't rate them 5 stars because I reserve those for the few true gems I stumble upon. This is one of those. The title of betrayed is a theme woven throughout the book- betrayal from past loves, family, and within casts. Alot more of the prophecy comes to play in this book and quite a few surprises. The merry gang continues their adventure for the second key and they come across all sorts of shuffles and fights. I love Ameese (not sure if thats the right spelling) and decided I want one. And a Caius. With the bond fully formed and the second key in hand I cant wait to see where the next adventures will lead.

Great continuation to a fantastic series

4.5 stars, and probably better than the first book. We get a lot more of the other characters in this book, and the story is that much better for it. Jo’s friends, and Caius’ family play a much bigger role. And the relationship between Jo and Caius becomes stronger as they have to work together to uncover what’s happening to the lost souls. There are secrets revealed, and one big betrayal, and in between it all, the story continues to move at a good pace and be interesting to follow. There’s a particularly big reveal towards the end, as well as a big plot movements, no spoilers here, though I can’t exactly say it was a complete surprise, it definitely makes things that much more interesting as we wait for the third book. I for one can’t wait to see where things will go from here!

A strong sequel to Unveiled!

You won't feel Betrayed by this book, it delivers. (See there, I did it again) You really should read Unveiled first and I will attempt to avoid spoilers. That said, I wholeheartedly recommend these books to anyone who enjoys a paranormal romance. The series has heart, a wonderful cast of characters and a good plot. Snarky Jo and arrogant Caius are back, and I love them more with every page. As Jo comes to grips with the realities of her world (a world where her most trustworthy ally is a high-ranking demonborn), she begins to embrace her powers, all of them. As they continue their quest for the Dagger to stop the tide of Lost Souls, a prophesy comes to light. From the sound of it, Jo learns that war is on the horizon, a war she will start, And that she will bring about the end of the Morrigan, supernatural Mother of All. But prophesies are tricky things. The action is fast-paced and there are plenty of dangers awaiting her and her allies, not the least of which is her own unfathomable power and her growing affection for her demonborn partner. Jo and Caius sport the same rebellious streak concerning the rules of people who are trying to kill them (which I totally love). And we discover another bond between them that makes me root for them all the harder. The loyalty they feel for each other and the sparks that fly are tantalizing and satisfying at the same time - as any good romance should be. Suzanne T. Fortin and Zachary Johnson reprise their roles from Unveiled and again I could listen to them over and over. I love how well Ms. Fortin portrays Jo's fiesty nature and Mr. Johnson's Caius is as brooding and dark as a demonborn should be. Again there is a slightly cliffhanger ending as with Unveiled but I am sure all loose threads will be tied up in the pending sequel Changed. I just can't wait to find out what happens next. You do not want to miss this series.
