Good stories but I found it confusing listneing at times between the various POVs but a decent story.

I'd like longer chapters if it means more resolution before switching to another POV.

I'm not that person but I feel like the first book should come with a TW for pregnancy related stuff that seems to bother enough people.

Some of the lead up I felt could have been shortened quite a bit and still maintained the suspense and secrets of the characters.

For me, I am not sure this was the best series to listen to as the multiude of characters was sometimes hard to keep straight. Maybe in print form, it's easier.

This collection gives you the first three books in the behind closed doors series. These are: Her Family Secrets; Out of the Fog and Outlived You. There is a similar structure to each with story threads in different locations or different points of view being woven together at the climax and showing resolution for one or more of the main characters. Each can be a standalone read, but the second book references some events and overlaps on a location from the first. The other consistent theme is women being abused emotionally, physically or both with coercive control perpetrated by mainly men, but with a female joining in in the third book and a main female antagonist in the second. All share significant, distressing events happening to some of the most sympathetic characters. Deception, disorientation, drugging and diminishing of autonomy occurs in all of them. The other shared theme is that what happens out of the public eye is diffeent in tone and attitude to that presented to the world. I liked and was impressed by them all.

The narrator did an excellent job and was consistent in voicing characters so it was clear who was speaking or whose point of view was being shown. She conveyed mood, feelings and attitude, amplifying the impactful text. A feat for over thirty hours of listening.
