Summary

She's always been his safe place to land.

Jensen has shared a special bond with Tuck for as long as she can remember, their friendship a language that never needed words. But as life threw her one curveball after another, that secret language turned to stony silence.

He's always been her protector.

Tuck has looked out for Jensen since the day she was born. As his best friend's little sister, he's tried to keep her firmly in the family category. But she's always been more.

All it takes is one moment of weakness to send Tuck's fiercely guarded walls crumbling to the ground. As a new fire burns between them, someone watches. Someone who doesn't like the new life Jensen's building for herself.

And they'll stop at nothing to keep her in the dark.

Love this Brother's Best Friend Romance

“Couldn’t stay away, Wilder. You’re like a drug.” Review: This is book 3 in the Sutter Lake series. We met Tuck and Jensen in Book 1 and I have been so curious about these two. I have loved this world and this book is my favorite so far! Jensen owns The Kettle in town. She also gives wild horses a place to call home when they can't survive on their own anymore. Tuck is one of the best trackers around. As a Forest Service Law Enforcement officer he stays busy and is a walking one night stand. Jensen has known Tuck her whole life. They have shared a special bond and friendship throughout their lives. Tuck tries to keep her at arms length until he just can't.These two were so sweet together. I love their deep rooted connection and history with one another. They just knew each other and understood one another so well. Jensen is strong, loving, kind and a single mom to the cutest little boy Noah. Tuck is a fierce protector and wants to take care of Jensen. I melted over how protective he was over Jensen. I loved their big hearts for others and their chemistry together was explosive. These 3 are my favorite so far in the series, but I love the whole Cole family. I enjoyed getting more of Walker and Taylor and little bits of Tessa and Liam. I definitely recommend you check out this series!

This series continues to get better and better! I love the individuality of each couple’s story. Both Jensen and Tucker had so many difficult obstacles to overcome both emotionally and with their respective families. The sabotage, deceitfulness and jealous actions of Tuck’s father coupled with Jensen’s insecurity and constant self berating of her own actions was enough to undermined any healthy relationship that they were trying to solidify. Thank goodness they had strong family and friends connections to guide them to better choices and decisions. Both Maxine Mitchell and Aaron Shedlock were wonderful narrators who brought depth and emotion to the storyline. Love this series ❣️

Loved this Friends to Lovers Story! Tucker had me swooning!

“I was a better man because I knew her. Because I loved her.”

This audiobook had me smiling, laughing and swooning. Small town, friends to lovers has to be one of my favorite tropes and this audiobook without a doubt had me falling in love. This story confirmed why I love the trope - there is that deep connection is already there, built over years of moments and memories shared together, making a foundation that is undeniably strong. Tucker and Jensen have known each other since birth, sharing a special connection no matter what life threw at them.

“How did he see me better than anyone?”

There was such ease between the two of them but there was that underlying longing that neither was willing to admit to for fear of ruining a friendship. The narration by Maxine and Aaron nailed the chemistry that the two could no longer hide, scorching scenes heating up the winter cold. I especially loved the protectiveness that Tucker had over everything concerning Jensen, being the man she so desperately deserved.

And being the horse lover that I am, I definitely connected with Jensen with her rescued horses and passion for protecting the mustangs. With the underlying mystery surrounding the violence against the mustangs, I was on the edge of my seat with who could be wanting to harm the majestic creatures. This romance is another fantastic audiobook I would definitely recommend.
