Summary

Billy Winston’s family is going to see him happy and in love, if it’s the last thing they do.

No one deserves a "happily ever after" quite as much as the second oldest Winston brother and his lady love Claire McClure (a.k.a. Scarlet St. Claire). Cruelty and circumstance tore them apart almost 20 years ago. Secrecy and bitterness kept them separated.

But do you know who's tired of their separation and stubbornness? Everyone. Especially Billy Winston’s family. And now, they're going to do something about it.

Well-meaning interference means the star-crossed lovers can’t stop tripping over each other in the hills of Tuscany, the catacombs of Rome, and the waterways of Venice. Billy and Claire find themselves thrown together and at the mercy of the Winston siblings’ shenanigans.

But will their forced proximity bring them together or push them even further apart?

This second-chance romance brings back the entire Winston gang playing cupid in one last story of love, hijinks, and family collusion.

Beard Necessities is a full-length contemporary romantic comedy, and can be listened to as a stand-alone, but it’s probably best to listen to it after the previous books in the Winston Brothers series.

Sad to see this series end.

This book is only for those who have read and loved the rest of the series. It involves many characters from past books and is really part 2 of Book 6, which was the prologue for this book. The romance between Claire (Scarlett) and Billy has been a theme running in the background of all previous books and it was lovely to see a happy conclusion to their relationship. That said, I did think the plot was a bit weak. Claire had been in a long, fairly unhappy marriage, due to a feeling of debt to her husband. However that debt was actually owed to Billy and it was his decision to keep this a secret that trapped her in a unhappy marriage for ten years. An important part of their relationship, in the time span between the two books, added to the confusion and left me with more questions that answers as to why they did not manage a frank and honest discussion when they met up on regular occasions before her marriage. However I did enjoy the conclusion to the series and although I can only recommend it to those familar with previous books in the series, it was nice to catch up with the couples from previous books.

Good

I enjoyed this, but it wasn’t as good as the prequel book. I look forward to Penny Reid’s next release.

Loved it more than Cletus loves his sausage.

I second all the good reviews of this final book and of the entire series. So satisfying and, while I am genuinely sad it’s over, I’m also looking forward to listening to all the books again in the future. This is a series that will stay funny and fantastic for years to come. Now to go nurse my book hangover...somehow.

Big Disappointment

I disliked too many things about this book to list. I did not find any humor in all the stunts that the family pulled against Billy and Scarlet. DNF

***SPOILER ALERT*** This book was amazing

So grateful that Penny didn't make us work too hard/worry too much throughout this book for the happy ending Billy and Scarlette so richly deserved. Book six was heartbreaking and it was tough waiting for this one to be released, but it was so worth the wait. I loved the epilogue most of all because we get a glimpse into the lives of all the siblings. In her author's note Penny talks about missing having the Winston boys in her life and I get that! These characters feel like family. Chris and Joy brought these stories to life for me - they are incredible narrators!

Billy and Scarlett... The End!

You don't HAVE to read Beard With Me before you read this book, but I think you will be missing out if you don't. Even in this book, it took quite a while for Billy and Scarlett to finally get together. Although this book had a fair bit of angst, it was still much more uplifting than book 6. I have firmly decided that Cletus is my favor Winston sibling. The way his mind works and his comments are usually responsible for my LOL moments. I was glad almost everything was resolved in this final book and billy and Scarlett FINALLY got their HEA. There was also an epilogue that I felt like I needed a family tree to keep track of the additional family members. I enjoyed the closeness of this family with all of their ups and downs, and I am kind of sad to reach the final book. I know I stated in one of my earlier reviews that I almost didn't read this series because I couldn't get through the first book. Luckily I was able to listen to each book and I am glad I didn't miss out on the Winston Brothers journey.

❤️📚Love this series!📚❤️

I love this series, especially the narration by Chris Brinkley and the various female narrators, but I have to ask, what is up with the “Sneak Peek” being the same on each book? 🤔

Great Series

Am I the only one who thinks Cletus is a lot like Preppy... King Series? This last book drove me crazy with their inability to get over themselves. Geez. But I love them Winston boys so all is good!
