About this listen

Cold-blooded murder.

Do I have it in me?

I’ve watched the people I love commit the worst kinds of crimes, and within the blink of an eye, I could be just like them. I feel the jagged glass beneath my fingers, but do I have the strength to follow this through? How much of my soul am I willing to sacrifice to make this right?

Nic was supposed to be my rock. He was supposed to be my world until he showed me a side of himself that terrified me. He’s not the boy I once loved, he’s a man who’s quickly becoming the monster in my nightmare.

Colton saved me. Colton keeps saving me, but I don’t know if he can pull me back this time. He has secrets of his own, but they leave me wondering just who it is that I’m falling for.

He lied to me.

With Momma Carrington and the bitch twins back, Jude Carter hostage in the wine cellar, a killer on the loose, and a secret I never saw coming, my life is seconds away from spiraling out of control.

The question is: Who will be there when I come out the other end?

So many things went down in book 3 and I’m in shock! I love Colton way more than I ever thought I would and Ocean’s character growth is fabulous! But OMG that bomb of an ending has me ready for more!!!🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥
As always flawless narration! Lessa brings the story to life!! I would have loved more than one chapter of Colton’s POV with the male narrator!

This book is …. (I have no words). There are no words to express how I feel about this series and this book. I loved the narration, the characters, the dialogue, the seat of your pants feeling. It’s just so amazing and sad that it’s over and have to wait for the next one. This book is so good… and I love the covers!!!

Betrayal, Forgiveness?

This book is NOT a stand alone and must be read in series order. It starts immediately after one cliffhanger and ends with another. The themes and content are similar to the prior books in the series (dark). The series in general has had a lot of betrayal and some forgiveness. The plot twists are appreciated, which is why I gave the book 4 stars, but I have a low tolerance for keeping secrets from loved ones and not learning from mistakes, so I'm ready for the conclusion of the series (which I will be starting immediately). Make sure you have the next one ready!

I listened to the audiobook. Lessa Lamb's performance is AMAZING. She's doing distinct voices to make many of the characters recognizable with the way she delivers the words. She also adds all the unstable emotion you'd expect from a seventeen year old. She makes the book enjoyable to listen to even as I'm cursing the characters' actions. Blake Lockheart does a great job portraying Colton's point of view, though almost the entire book is from O's perspective. I'm sure that I liked the book better because I listened to it.
