Summary

The twentieth century is drawing to a close and the Russians are up to all sorts of dirty tricks in Lithuania and Kaliningrad. MI6 decide to fight fire with fire and send in a crack SAS team led by Dan 'Spider' Shepherd. Their mission - to create chaos in the Baltic region through sabotage, assassination and black ops. But the Russians aren't going to give up without a fight, and soon the SAS team wonder if they might have bitten off more than they can chew.

Baltic black Ops left me kinda let down

Every book I have read (listened to) of Stephen Leathers I loved (not read any short stories) I have loved. Spider Shepherd is awesome. But I was kinda disappointed, there was no Major Gannon or Liam or back story of spider in the uk, flying here there and everywhere. It was like he had a bit part in this book to a certain degree.

That certainly won’t stop me buying any more books by Mr Leather

Narration is once again top notch.

Explosive action

Full of action and faces the SAS against usual enemies from the East. Lots of story lines that could flow into future books.

Detail of Story telling

SL, back to his best great story great detail, very impressive knowledge of the end of the cold war.
The characters very believable and knowledgeable so much research entered into the plot lines. Great listen too.
I look forward to more Spider SAS adventures,
I have read every page re Spider Shephard looking forward to July for book 21

Baltic Black Ops

Yet another brilliant and intense story, expertly narrated.
I love these peaks into Spider's former life, and seeing how they inform his current persona. I also love the sheer amount of information that's woven into the storyline. If I'd been asked to read these books at school instead of attending the dreary history lessons we were given, I'd have learned so much more!
Thanks Stephen!

More of this, please

Loved this book. It's a great story with great characters. The banter between the soldiers is very amusing, particularly between Jock and Geordie. Any fan of Stephen Leather and Spider Shepard should enjoy this book emmensly.

needs a better editor

Another great Spider Sheppard book, but as usual, there are some script, factual and mussreading errors, however these do not detract from the overal appeal of the story

Top notch yet again

Up there with the best of the Spider novels. Probably one of the best in the SAS series.

not the best by far

I have read or listened to every book Stephen Leather has released. The last 2 have slipped somewhat from the glory of the early days.
I really do hope things return to the heights they once were.
