Olive Moore has been avoiding her hometown for three years now. But a phone call with her mom has her agreeing to spend the holidays back home with her family, she lets it slip she will be bringing a boyfriend with her. The only problem with that is she has no boyfriend. That is until she meets a handsome—albeit annoying—stranger on the plane who makes her an offer she can't refuse.

Finn Beckett has always had good luck, as demonstrated by the gorgeous blonde he's seated next to on a flight to Aspen. One drink too many leads to Olive spilling her problems in his lap, and he feels compelled to help. So he makes her an offer: he'll pretend to be her boyfriend to keep her family off her back and make this the best Christmas ever.

Olive and Finn spend the next two weeks going on spirit-filled Christmas dates with her family. Their ruse is working perfectly, but Finn can't help but notice Olive is holding something back. Something that could ruin everything.

Their relationship may have taken off smoothly, but with all this turbulence, will they ever make it to baggage claim?

I started this audiobook in November but it took me a while to finish but I really enjoyed it. This is a holiday romance type of story but I feel like it works in January to ward off the post Christmas winter blues. I also really loved how the narration was a first person duo-logy. I say this about a lot of good books but again the story would be so perfect to be adapted to a screen adaptation as it is so cosy and warm. One thing I will say that i personally disliked (as I did feel there was a lot of build up of sexual tension between the main characters ) was how the story faded to black and so it was a little confusing as to whether the two main characters did end up sleeping together even though it was insinuated but if you are looking for a clean holiday romance I’d say this fits the bill.

The tropes are pretty classic but I love how the MMC is trying to use the 12 days of Christmas as an excuse to give her a surprise everyday. I felt like the FMC was really relatable in her insecurities and her personality but it was so sad how she was betrayed by her own sister omg. I’d recommend if you’re looking for a shorter audiobook.
Tropes :
❄️ fake dating
❄️ grumpy x sunshine / golden retriever MMC x black cat FMC
❄️ set in Aspen so lots of talk of skiing
❄️ set at Christmas time
❄️ flashback scenes
❄️ calls her grinchy 🤭
