I didn't mean to star in a sex tape, okay? It was just one of those unexplainable things. Like Stonehenge, Police Academy 2, and morning glory clouds. It just happened. Now, my ball-busting father is sentencing me to six months of celibacy, sobriety, and morbid boredom under the roof of Boston's nerdiest girl alive, Sailor Brennan. The virginal archer is supposed to babysit my ass while I learn to take my place in Royal Pipelines, my family's oil company. Little does she know, that's not the only pipe I'll be laying....

Everyone says opposites attract. And they must be right, because there’s no logical reason why I’m so drawn to Colin Fitzgerald. I don’t usually go for tattoo-covered, video-gaming, hockey-playing nerd-jocks who think I’m flighty and superficial. His narrow view of me is the first strike against him. It doesn’t help that he’s buddy-buddy with my brother. And that his best friend has a crush on me. And that I just moved in with them. Oh, did I not mention we’re roommates?

In fifth grade my teacher set us up with pen pals from a different school. Thinking I was a girl, with a name like Misha, the other teacher paired me up with her student Ryen. My teacher, believing Ryen was a boy like me, agreed. It didn't take long for us to figure out the mistake. And in no time at all, we were arguing about everything. The best take-out pizza. Android vs. iPhone. Whether or not Eminem is the greatest rapper ever. For the next seven years, it was us. She's the only one who keeps me on track, talks me down, and accepts everything I am.

Summary
I was kidnapped on my honeymoon by three masked men.
Blindfolded.
Bound.
Destination unknown.
I was told to stay silent and abide by their rules. But they didn’t realize I wasn’t a victim…not anymore.
The open sea was my backdrop for nine torturous days. During that time, glimmers of my fate were revealed by a man with the mysterious chartreuse-colored eyes. He should have scared me, but he didn’t.
He intrigued me. And I intrigued him.
He punished me when I didn’t listen, which was every single day. But beneath his cruelty, I sensed he was guarding a grave secret.
I was sold.
And in a game of poker, no less.
My buyer? A Russian mobster who likes to collect pretty things. Now that I know the truth, I only have one choice.
Sink or swim.
And when one fateful night presents me the opportunity, I take it. I just never anticipated my actions would leave me shipwrecked with my kidnapper.
He needs me alive. I want him dead.
But as days turn into weeks, one thing becomes clear - I should hate him…but I don’t.
My name is Willow.
His name is Saint.
Ironic, isn’t it? He bears a name that denotes nothing but holiness yet delivers nothing but hell. However, if this is hell on earth…God, save my soul.
Bad Saint is a dark romance containing mature themes that might make some listeners uncomfortable. It includes: kidnapping, captivity, strong violence, mild language, and some dark and disturbing scenes.
This twisted tale is not intended for the faint-hearted. So, if you’re game…welcome to the madness.
"Sinful and compelling, Bad Saint takes you on a darkly romantic, emotionally tense ride that will leave you aching for more.” (New York Times best-selling author Elle Kennedy)
"Shipwrecked on a deserted island with a beautiful, tortured villain? Sign me up!" (K.A. Tucker, USA Today best-selling author of Ten Tiny Breaths)
“Bad Saint is a dark and emotional romance that you are sure to love." (NYT best-selling author Kylie Scott)

Bad Saint is so GOOD!! 5 stars ⭐️
This is my first Monica James book and it came highly recommended. I’m absolutely blown away by the depth of this story and how easy it is to connect to the characters and feel their very pulse. The narration adds so much more to this story. Willow is strong and resilient and her courage and bravery in adversity is remarkable. I love broken but strong heroine. Monica James writes her character so beautifully. This story is in Willow’s POV but Saint grips your heart in every way, even as the captor everything about him makes me want to fall at his knees. He’s a sinner in the worst way but every bit a Saint. I can’t wait to dive into book 2 of this series. 5 Stars all round!!

SENSATIONAL.. MYSTERY & DELICIOUSLY DARK MAYHEM
Well I know I’m going to go completely insane.. I’m going to be inconsolable.. I may even scream and throw things.. but I knew going in that this was a TRILOGY and that the third book hadn’t been released yet - but this book tempted, teased and taunted me with its dark promises. And WOW this gripping, tense, twisty, edge of your seat dark rollercoaster certainly gave me what I wanted. Told from Willow’s PoV, with a few very brief thoughts from Saint’s, it’s emotionally tense from beginning to end.. and you know book 2 is going to go emotionally deeper, sexually darker and the ‘feel factor’ will surely go off the charts. Kidnapped virginal bride Willow is now held captive on a boat bound for Hell.. however she’s strong, resourceful and never gives up her determined fight for freedom.. and also for answers. But the angsty brooding sexual chemistry between her and her masked captor named Saint during their fraught eventful and dangerous journey to Russia, is complex, dark and seeped with mystery like the man. However secrets do get answered, a truce will be made and a beautiful ‘you own my soul’ relationship will finally be forged from a brutal black beginning.. but the maniacal psychotic mobster isn’t going to let go of his property.. and I’m sure things aren’t going to get any better on Day 34 of Willow’s treacherous captivity either. Worth a credit? For me, definitely yes.. absolutely fictional ‘never would it ever’ but I loved loved loved every chilling thrilling second of it. Willow is a feisty, smart, resourceful, determined kickass and Saint is a dark sexy force, an enigma, a deep multi-layered puzzle waiting to be solved. There’s well-paced action and non-stop drama, a wee bit of sensual awakening, torturous twists, well won highs, bitter bombshells and an eye-bulging “wtf🙀, no.. no.. no.. no.. no” of a CLIFFHANGER ending that’ll make you grab book 2 as soon as this one ends.

The complete trilogy isn’t available on audible!
Book one, of this trilogy, is full of violence, intrigue and emotional pain. The Heroine has had more than her share of heartache and betrayal, in her life. First her step-father, then her mother and then her fiancé. The beautiful thing about this character is that, despite all of her negative experiences, she still tries to see the good in people. She also chooses the honorable and moral path, even if it’s not in her own best interest. This character even decides to sacrifice herself for the well being of two other people. At the end of book one, it appears like her worst personal Hell is about to begin. There is quite a bit of violence towards women and several attempted rapes, so if these are triggers for you, Choose a different book. This narrator is new to me but she does a good job with male and female voices. My biggest complaint is that book three is not available on audible, at this time, therefore, I have bought the kindle version in order to complete the trilogy.😭 -V from Kansas

More Please!!! Couldn’t Get Enough!!!!
HOLY MOLY!! This was my first time experiencing Monica James, and yes, it was an experience! I was completely and utterly captivated by this book. Saint Hennessey is a force to be reckoned with and Willow learns that first hand. Willow has been taking care of herself since the moment her mother turned her back on her at the age of fifteen. The one person in this world who should’ve been her rock and kept her grounded was the one person who brought her nothing but shame. Determined to move forward and take back her life, Willow begins modeling and landing top jobs which is where she meets Drew, the man who makes her heart flutter. It’s a whirlwind romance and they are married in only a few short weeks. But when you know it’s real, you just know. Well at least she thought she knew. Wanting to show his new bride a good time, this rich bad-boy takes Willow away to a desolate island for their honeymoon where they will consummate their marriage and relax under the scorching sun. Excitement fills her veins and happiness swims in her belly but in the blink of an eye everything changes. Suddenly the man she married is not who she thought and Willow is swept off her feet but not in the way she was hoping. Bound and gagged, her kidnappers keep her on a ship while they sail the open seas. She’s alone and scared but determined to fight. She’s determined to escape and will not let them break her. But as the ominous group of men try to break down her walls and turn her into the submissive they need her to be for their boss back in Russia, Willow can’t help but feel an unexplainable pull to one of the bad guys. He hides behind a mask and not just the one that covers his face. Saint Hennessy is an enigma, a mix of evil and good. But can Willow trust his kind gestures, especially when he follows them up with a punishment for her unsuccessful attempts at escape? As the days at sea pass in a mix of evil and heartbreak, Willow will fight for her freedom and discover a part of herself that she never knew existed. In a rush against time and now with a new dilemma, Willow and Saint will be forced to make peace in order to survive. But how much trust can they put in each other? And at the end of the day can she now call him a friend? Or will Saint prove himself unworthy of Willow’s trust as the cards unfold and the truth comes to light? This story was addictive! A fast-paced adrenaline rush of emotions that I couldn’t get enough of. The writing was flawless, the characters held all the traits that glue me to the pages and have me fully invested. Even though Willow was being held against her will, she had the backbone of a warrior, of a woman determined to survive. I loved that about her and routed for her the entire time. And Saint may be the villain in this story but man, you can’t help but fall in love with him. The mystery in his eyes, the fierceness that exploded from his soul. He was all alpha, with his dark and domineering demeaner and his external scars that told a story of his past. But you also got to see a side to him that sucked you in and mad you fall head over heals for this man. A side that showed his true vulnerability and that revealed the truth that they were both pawns in someone else’s game. I listened to this story on audiobook and I’m so glad I did. This was the first time I listened to narrator, Yvonne Syn, and honestly, I was hesitant because I normally only listen to dual narration because it takes a lot to keep my attention and I get bored with one narrator but seriously, this woman had the perfect voice and totally nailed Willow’s character. I was so invested in this story and give Yvonne a round of applause for a fantastic performance. I could clearly picture every scene and every second of this story. I can’t give this book enough praise! This is at the top of my favorite reads list!! I’m anxiously looking forward to where this story will go next. It ends on a cliffhanger but have no fear, book two is already available so you bet your bottom dollar that I’m diving right in! ABSOLUTELY RECOMMEND!!!!!

Great Beginning to a Dark Romance!
Every now and then I need something a little darker in between reading light romance books and this one completely fit the bill! This is my first book by Monica James but I will definitely be finishing the series and finding more by her! Willow is in newly wedded bliss as her and her husband arrive at their isolated honeymoon location, at least until she is kidnapped by three masked gunmen. Willow is not at all what I expected, the fact that she is a virginal bride and only knew her husband for 6 weeks I just wrongly pictured a naïve immature woman who only sees rainbows and unicorns… rest assured that is not Willow! I absolutely love her… she is a strong, resourceful woman who refuses to give up and be a victim no matter what gets thrown at her which is perfect because it made me root for her through the entire book! These types of books that have a captured woman who starts to have feelings for her captor are always difficult, the author has a thin line to walk before it gets too unbelievable but this was done wonderfully. Saint isn’t like the other men who have kidnapped Willow, he may be cold and remote but he has protected her at every turn. The book is mainly told by Willow’s point of view but at the beginning of each chapter is a line or two from Saint’s point of view and I love those little glimpses we get into what he is going through! It has been one ordeal after another for these two but slowly secrets are revealed and I can’t help but root for both of them! If you love dark romances with some major drama and action then definitely pick this one up but just a warning, this is a CLIFFHANGER but luckily the next two books are already downloaded and ready to go! This is my first time listening to Yvonne Syn but she did an absolutely amazing job narrating this! She did a good job giving each character their own voice and I loved the accents!

Dark romance... just an FYI
So just so people go in knowing, this is a dark romance. This is one of those anti-hero type of books. Where the "bad guy" starts to win you over bit by bit and you're left wondering how that even happened. That can't be just me?! But, a big but here, Willow wasn't some damsel in distress. Nope, this girl was no joke and she wasn't going down easy. I enjoyed Yvonne Syn's narration. I could feel the fierceness she added with her voice alone.

Excellent but Cliffhanger!!!
The story line is actually unique, and it kept me interested until the end. Not crazy about cliffhangers, but I suppose they serve their purpose, as I will be listening to the next one immediately!

Well...wow. Not sure what I can say here besides the fact that I need to get book 2 NOW. Bad Saint was action-packed, angst-driven, sexy, and addictive! So much happened in this book that you’re better off going in blind and experiencing it all. As for the narrator, Yvonne Syn, was AMAZING. Loved her!!! She even made Saint sound sexy haha!! Onto the sequel!!! Definitely recommend this book!

Seriously dark stuff....great read
This is the first Monica James book I have read. Yvonne Syn did an incredible job with the narration. The characters in this novel are scary and believable. The story line is dark, dangerous, sexy and engaging. Willow is terrified. Saint and his cohorts are terrifying. Those two ideas create a mix that makes this a must read and a page turner for anybody who can read dark without pause. And if you need to pause you will be compelled to return to it and finish it. I am looking forward to the next book in the series.
