Have tried several times to get into the story but had to give up after only three chapters. I have enjoyed other Carl Hiassen books but as has been said before the narrator does the author no service. He reads it rather than narrates it. His voice is flat and I imagine a schoolboy demonstrating his annunciation in an oral exam. This is not his genre. This is one of those occasions when you’d do better to read the book for yourself. Sorry

Will read the book

A great story, rather spoilt by the reader’s voice, which I found akin to fingernails dragged across a blackboard.

A rollicking tale!

If you could sum up Bad Monkey in three words, what would they be?

Bring Back Skink

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bad Monkey?

Hurricane Love Scene

What three words best describe Lance Fuller’s voice?

Not Very Good

Did you have an emotional reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Lance Fullers narration almost put me off - but it takes a heck of a lot before I give up on a book and eventually I got used to it and was laughing inappropriately as I usually do with a Carl Hiaasen book.

Narrator Not Great

Would you consider the audio edition of Bad Monkey to be better than the print version?

Yes, the audio edition performed by Lance almost put you in the Bahamas amongst the crazy antics of crime and property development.

What was one of the most memorable moments of Bad Monkey?

The most memorable moment was a very painful scene where said bad monkey bit deep into a certain part of a character's anatomy with side splitting consequences.

Which scene did you most enjoy?

The storm descends on to the Bahamian island while the main villain struggles in his ever more debilitated state to remain in control of his destiny.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I did not want to listen to this rich text in one sitting as like a fine wine you take well savoured sips to fully appreciate it like the hilarious but yet complex story.

Any additional comments?

Once more Hiaason takes comedy and crime to new heights but be prepared this is a deluxe piece as Lance reads so well.

Hilarious Simian based romp

Despite the plethora of gruesome deaths, there is plenty of humour throughout this story. For me however the narration was somewhat robotic in places and with hindsight I think that I may have enjoyed it more had I read the story and placed my own emphasis on the dialogue/humour.

A bit chaotic
