He's deathless. She's trying to find a reason to live.
LILA
My innocence was ripped from me one fatal night under the starless sky, resulting in an unwanted teenage pregnancy and a secret the Camorra must bury. So my father decided to hand me off to the highest bidder.
The lucky winner? Tiernan Callaghan, psychopath extraordinaire.
The Irish mafia prince wants me for all the wrong reasons: Alliance. Money. Prestige. War.
I am but a pawn in his twisted game. The man who sits on a throne of his enemies' skulls thinks I'm a weakling. Little does he know, in this chess game, the underdog wins.
Because the thing about bad bishops?
They protect good pawns.

I had a thoroughly good time with this book, the audio had me cackling outloud in the middle of the street and the disability representation was perfect. The portrayal of someone who was significantly underestimated because of their disability, is something a lot of disabled people are used to experiencing. The fact Lila is a complete badass and puts all these people in their place is superb!!
'Sorry about the mess little man'

Some reviews talk about him cheating on her but I think it fits with the world building and that she is presenting as being a very young child... so... 🤢🤷 all round very happy with this book and looking forward to any sequels 🙂
Absolutely brilliant!!!
