Got as far as Chapter 6. For me the narration was so bad, I couldn't concentrate on the story line, just had to give up!!

The narrator was not the correct choice. The writing was awful, I expected more from this author. Looks like the author got an inexperienced secondary school student to write the book. It was very “try hard” in some places.

Use of too many unnecessary words. “Then she said, but I knew, so then I said …” I’d expect more from a published author.
