Episode Description

In this episode of How to Make Your Fitness Journey a Lifestyle, I want to bring everything back to the foundation of the Your Level Fitness approach.

Trusting yourself to figure it out.

Not just when everything is going well.

Not just when you're consistently exercising, following your eating plan, or feeling confident about your progress.

I'm talking about trusting yourself in those moments when you feel like you're losing control.

Maybe you've had a difficult twenty minutes.

Maybe you've had a couple of days where things haven't gone the way you wanted.

Maybe you're frustrated because you're falling back into thoughts and behaviors you've been working to change.

Those are the moments when I want you to calmly remind yourself that you're capable of figuring things out.

You are still responsible for your choices, and you are still capable of moving forward.

You have an entire lifetime of experiences to draw from.

You've tried different approaches to fitness.

You've made decisions about eating and exercise.

You've succeeded at things.

You've struggled with things.

You've learned along the way.

And none of those experiences automatically determine what happens next.

Your past shows where you've been. It doesn't dictate where you're going.

But there's another important part of this that I want you to consider.

How do you feel about the person you used to be?

I think a lot of people approach their fitness journeys as if they're trying to escape an earlier version of themselves.

They want to leave behind the person who struggled with weight.

The person who couldn't stay consistent.

The person who felt uncomfortable in their body.

The person who made decisions they now wish they had handled differently.

And they hope that if they lose enough weight, develop enough discipline, or achieve enough goals, they'll finally create enough distance between who they are now and who they used to be.

But you're not becoming an entirely different person.

You're evolving.

The person you were five years ago was doing the best they could with what they understood, what they were willing to do, and what they were capable of doing at that point in life.

You wouldn't be who you are today without those experiences.

That person deserves appreciation too.

And so does the person you are right now.

You don't have to wait until you've reached another goal to recognize your value.

You don't have to look back on your past with guilt or shame.

And you don't have to treat your future self as someone who will finally be worthy of your respect.

You deserve appreciation, love, and understanding at every stage of your life.

That includes your past.

That includes your present.

And that includes the person you're continuing to become.

The Your Level Fitness Framework isn't about replacing the old you with a new you.

It's about learning to trust, appreciate, and work with yourself as you continue growing.

You're going to make mistakes.

You're going to have difficult moments.

You're going to change your mind, adjust your approach, and discover new things about yourself.

But through all of it, you're still you.

And I want you to remember that the next time you're frustrated with yourself or wishing you could erase something from your past.

You don't need to run away from who you've been.

You can appreciate where you've been, recognize how far you've come, and continue moving forward at your own pace.

It's always been you. It always will be you. And you're worth appreciating through every part of the journey.
