The Shadow presents “The Voice of Death,” originally broadcast on December 8, 1940. This Mutual Broadcasting System episode, sponsored by Blue Coal, is listed as episode 205 and stars Bill Johnstone as Lamont Cranston/The Shadow, with Marjorie Anderson as Margo Lane.

Lamont and Margo venture into the Louisiana bayous to visit Arthur, an old friend living in isolated seclusion. A decaying house, strange animal sounds, and Arthur’s unnerving experiments draw The Shadow into a case involving altered voices and dangerous attempts to tamper with nature.

The Shadow presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
