"I told my mother that I did not want to go to my sister’s friend’s birthday party dressed exactly like my lacey, frilly sister - who planned to bounce off planet and abandon me with strangers for a purple alien."

'Use your words' is not a lesson one little girl needs to learn. She knows what she likes and what she doesn't like. And being dragged to a stranger's party? Goes firmly in the 'I don't like it' category.

Obviously, her mother needs to make all the pain and suffering of this outing worth it. The solution? Cake!

I WAS TOLD THERE WOULD BE CAKE is Book 1 of 8 in the A GIRL'S LIFE SERIES and the third children's audiobook from Yu-airit Audio Works. Take a listen to the first book in the life of a sassy young legend who refuses to be at the short end of any deal.
