Relational Order Up Close
What David and Maria can help us see about trust, obligation, and perspective
How much of another person’s conduct do we understand when we know only part of the story?
This episode introduces the Relational Order Explorer (ROE) through David and Maria, two fictional coworkers whose developing relationship brings questions of trust, privacy, competing obligations, and repair into everyday life.
We explore how changing perspectives can alter an interpretation, why possessing information does not authorize sharing it, and how honoring one commitment can still leave another responsibility unmet. We also connect the scenario to Entangled Reality’s framework—constraint, provision, and relational order—and consider what future literary and historical explorations might offer.
The Explorer helps us examine evidence and ask better questions. It cannot calculate moral worth, establish hidden motives, or deliver a definitive verdict on a relationship.
