Dragnet presents “Big Gamble,” episode 152 of the classic radio series, originally broadcast on May 8, 1952. Jack Webb stars as LAPD Sergeant Joe Friday, with Martin Milner as Officer Bill Lockwood, in a script by Jim Moser for the NBC Radio Network.

Working the Vice Detail day watch in Los Angeles, Friday and Lockwood investigate a professional gambling operation that keeps moving ahead of the police. A promising tip gives them an opening, but the case quickly proves more serious than an ordinary vice investigation. This episode marks Milner’s last regular appearance as Friday’s partner, Bill Lockwood.

Dragnet presents the original broadcast with a newly produced contextual introduction, a short closing announcement, and gently cleaned/mastered audio for a more consistent listening experience.
