He's the love of her life...and the one man she can never have.
Amelia Kade is ready to grow up. She’s loved the same man since she was young, and it’s time to let go of her hopeless childhood crush. Especially because he isn’t just any man—he’s her father’s best friend. Her godfather. Even if he did want her (which he absolutely doesn’t) their relationship is forbidden.
Matis Moreau is ready for something new. He’s been running a kink club in Paris for the last thirty years, and it’s time to move on. The only problem is…he doesn’t have anything to move on to. He’s a lonely fifty-three-year-old man in desperate need of a life.
Then, one day his best friend’s daughter devises a plan. Amelia will find him a real partner, and in return, he’ll help her find a man worthy of her charm and beauty. But no matter how hard they try—no matter how many dates they set each other up on—no one else can measure up. They're both falling hard for the one person they definitely shouldn't touch.
And once they give in to illicit temptation, the fire between them may prove so strong it’ll burn everything to the ground…

Secondly, let's talk about the story and writing style. Sara Cate... I think big congratulations, and some commiserations are in place. CONGRATULATIONS because you definitely wrote your absolute BEST story with this one. But also commiserations... because I have no idea how you could EVER surpass it. :))
Now on the story. First: I really liked the foundation of the book and how the story was set-up: Amelia had a romantic crush on Matis since she was 18 (which shows it's not some teenage infatuation to pass, but something real), while Matis always cared and protected her like a friend and steady godfather presence, but nothing going into a grooming type of situation. Nicely so, the book storyline kicks off when Matis acknowledges and starts seeing Amelia as the woman she became (she's 25 now), and begins to 'fall harder'', instead of the book dragging on chapters of Amelia's unrequited feelings. The entire set-up was done perfectly.
On this foundation, the narrative was super well written, and it felt like a very romantic, heartfelt story with Paris as a charming backdrop. The dynamic and chemistry between Matis and Amelia is fantastic, their existing bond, the way he loves, knows her, supports and calms her, his internal thoughts, struggles and feelings... all of it. This is an age gap so well done. And hence, it's a story where LOVE precedes and ''explodes" ahead of the (great) spice, not vice versa - and that felt unique and original.
The only element that felt a bit out of story was Amelia's voyeurism desires related to Matis (with others)- which felt not entirely genuine and possibly pushing him back into situations that he was tired of and felt meaningless now to him.
And just, Amelia- why are you calling Matis "old (man)" even in key moments towards the end of the book? ''Daddy" is way better. :))
ALL in ALL, a beautiful romantic and spicy story that I absolutely LOVED and that deserves to be re-listened to time and time again.
