This was enjoyable escapism, relaxing listening to fall into with Buroker’s usual mix of humour and relatable characters who are trying to adjust to new lives after conflict. I’ll definitely listen to the whole series once it is recorded.

I chose to read this book on the title as my theme for September is backing with Great British Bake Off back in a few weeks.

I'm so glad I chose this. Its funny, easy to read and listen too. We have a MMC dragon who can transform into a man who has no interest in being mated with other female dragons and owns the dinner. But his soup everyone wants! We have a human FMC who shot the dragon during the war and now is asking for a job. Slow burn romance. Interfering family, assassin friends, ravel bakers and a baking competition.
I really enjoyed reading this book and I've stared the second book Knead for Speed which continues the story.

The Audible narration was good. My one issue was that the voice for the FMC's elf friend sounds more android than elf but you get use to it the more you listen.
