Betrayed by the supposed heroes, Reed refuses to waste his second chance at life.
Reed's summoning skill pulled a wooden chair during a boss fight.
A chair. It sat in the summoning circle while a level 35 dungeon guardian tried to cave his skull in. He used it as a shield. That's what [Random Summon] was: 98% garbage, 2% barely useful, and the reason the Hero's party kept him around as a punching bag instead of a teammate.
For two years, Reed took the beatings. The stolen loot. The healer who patched his bones but never asked who broke them. Then the Hero buried him alive in a collapsing dungeon and filed him as dead.
His skill evolved to Mythic.
Now [Random Summon] reaches into the sealed archives of the dead and pulls back legendary heroines from the moments before their deaths. They arrive wounded, dying, and more powerful than anything the living world has seen in centuries. Reed heals them. They give him their loyalty, their blades, and their bodies.
A Blade Saint who held a gate alone for six hours. A Stellar Warden assassinated by her own council. A Phantom who was burned alive for knowing too much.
The Hero's party threw him away. He summoned their replacements.
Now he's coming for every name on his list.

though by the reviews I'd say its not a major issue. It is good and i like the concept, but when the characters talk about somwthing they cant know while acknowledging in the same sentence that they cant know it and still give a full account of what they can't know, it feels like we missed a page in a book, or the author edited something and forgot to edit the parts corrilating to the bit edited, which is VERY easily done when writing.
it is well narrated and the story is good, if unoriginal. fun little revenge power fantasy for those who like that concept. a bit angsty with a male emotional vulnerability rarely shown except in small moments of some books because MCs always have to be grim growling men growling grimly.
The pacing is a bit up and down for me, at times slow enough to be impactful but just on the edge of overstaying its welcome, but not quite there. others seem like a domino effect thats been thrown together quickly from excitement from the author or to keep the readers attention. fair enough seeing as how many audiobook readers (like me!) are caffine guzzling members of the ADHD who cant hold a thought for long enough to realise they just saw a FAT bird outside and it eyed up my cat like it was going to eat it! bloody fat pidgeons. this is why we shouldn't litter people! they grow!
back on track
"Relationship" wise (keeping this bit of the review PG13 ) goes from 0-100 fast and then is fairly consistent from there. but as I've read/listened to hundreds of audiobooks, that aspect of all books with explicit content bores me. as "I read it for the articals" as this is going to sound, I've become jaded by any audiobook that shows relationships or harems, (most of them!) because its kinda like a friend who has you around for dinner and you once conplimented the gravy once, so now they add it to everything you eat to be nice, but it just ends up bland and tedious from over exposure and ruins what would otherwise be a perfectly good trifle.
honestly, good but
