For a short story, it delivered exactly what it promised, a cosy cowboy romance with chemistry and emotion. His past insecurities were a slight miss for me, and I did find myself wishing it had been a little longer, as I would’ve loved more time to explore their history and watch their reconnection develop.
Overall, a sweet, quick cowboy romance that was an enjoyable little read.

I picked up Save a Horse, Keep the Cowboy expecting a fun cowboy romance, and that's exactly what I got—but underneath the romance, I also found a story about vulnerability, trust, and learning to let someone love you without constantly expecting them to leave.
One thing I appreciated was that the relationship didn't rely on endless misunderstandings or unnecessary drama. Instead, it focused on two people carrying their own fears and emotional baggage while slowly learning to communicate with one another.
For me, the strongest romances aren't the ones where everything is perfect.
They're the ones where both people feel emotionally safe enough to be imperfect.
I also liked that neither character was trying to "fix" the other. They challenged each other to grow, but they still accepted one another for who they were. Healthy relationships should make you feel more like yourself, not less.
As someone who's experienced unhealthy relationships in the past, I always notice the difference between love that's built on control and love that's built on respect. This book leaned much more towards the latter, and I found that really refreshing.
The chemistry between the characters felt natural, the humour balanced the emotional moments well, and the small interactions often said more than the grand romantic gestures.
At its core, I don't think this book is just about finding love.
I think it's about finding someone who makes you realise you don't have to earn it by changing who you are.
Sometimes the greatest love stories aren't about rescuing each other.
They're about finally feeling safe enough to put your guard down.
Overall, this was a cosy, heartfelt romance that left me smiling, and I'd happily continue reading more in the series.
