She wasn't sleeping. She was waiting.

For one hundred years, Princess Aurora has been frozen in a tower—paralyzed by a curse, but never unconscious. She's felt every touch. Remembered every violation. Counted every man who used her body and left her trapped.

Forty-six have tried to break her curse. Forty-six have failed.

Sir Alistair is the forty-seventh. Desperate to succeed where others couldn't—his life depends on it—he's the first to realize the truth: the curse doesn't respond to kisses or noble intentions. It responds to her desire.

To break her free, he'll have to make her want him. Genuinely. Completely.

But Aurora has spent a century planning for this moment. She doesn't want to be saved.

She wants revenge.

And when the curse finally breaks, only one of them will walk away free.

The Sleeping Curse is a dark fairy tale retelling with explicit content, morally gray characters, and an ending that will haunt you. This is not your grandmother's Sleeping Beauty.

Dark Enchantments, Book OneContent warning: This book contains explicit sexual content, dubious consent, and dark themes. For mature readers only.

This dark, twisted and erotic retelling was not quite what i expected, specially as it starts with spice.
the poor Aurora was used and abused for 100 years, so she is desperate for freedom. The ending is not quite what i thought it would be, and i wanted to know more about her, her queendomand adventures afterwards.
I really enjoyed it, even if not 100% of what i thought things would go.

did not expect that

3.8 ish ⭐'s, I got this as it is currently included in the audible plus catalogue, it's a retelling and because I don't want to get in to big books or long series right now with a couple of books coming out this week that I've been waiting to listen to, this is part of a big series but each book is a standalone story, I don't have any triggers that I know of but if you do it's probably best to check the TW before going in to this one, there is some plot with the spice, it's a twisted retelling and kind of a HEA but probably not the way you'd expect, it's not an especially deep book but I enjoyed it and it's a dark, spicy, quick listen, I'd probably listen to more in this series between other books in future.
