Hoplite Thirty-Seven had thought he was going to die when the antimatter bomb detonated.
It should have marked the end of his long service on the front lines of a losing war. Instead, he found himself on a backwater alien world where nothing made sense.
Magic wasn't supposed to be real.
Neither were elves or other fantasy creatures…
Yet, here on Ahkoolis, that was reality.
Enter a world where science and magic collide.

Great Sci-fi Fantasy Mix!

it's an enjoyable read, just remember that most fiction and sci-fi is derivative of something or other . so don't take it too poorly when you spot the similarities with other fictional universes.
look we know what it is

You have a legally distinct warhammer Space Marine with the backstory of the Master Chief, running around the fantasy world, possessing a huge wall protecting humans and other species from the plague of what seems to be undeath. With the big, terrifying guy leading them, all the while there is some sort of Highlander-esque tournament going on in the background.
Also the male narrator sounds like a drunk sometimes for no reason.
A hell of a mix

Still, if you've ever wondered what would happen if one of Warhammer 40k's space marines was to crash land on the Warhammer Fantasy world, this makes for a pretty good approximation.
Of course, that isn't the reason I'm giving it 5 stars. While I've listened to a few isekai audiobooks in which the protagonist was a powerful person even before being isekai'd, those are definitely the minority, so I tend to like them more than the more generic sort in which the protagonist gains OP abilities upon arrival. Also, this book has no "System", so entirely avoids the constant barrage of stat screens that plague so many isekai novels.
My only small complaint is that despite going to the extra expense of using two narrators for this book, each narrator sticks exclusively to narrating full chapters depending on which character's perspective that chapter is seen from. It would make more sense to always have the male narrator voice male characters and the female one voice female characters. So that's a bit of a missed opportunity.
Definitely Not a Space Marine
