A forgotten bloodline. A scary transformation. A vampire king.

When an attack leaves us all reeling with no hope for the future, my daughter reminds me not to give up. She reminds me of a forgotten power, and it changes both of us forever.

With a new weapon to help us, we use it to solidify fractured alliances and bring our forces to bear. But the king targets those closest to me, and someone I love is mortally wounded.

Can I find a way to harness my new power and save my friend, or have I given the king what he needs to win this war?

Find out what prowls the shadows of Black Blossom County by reading Forty Thieves for the Dead, the new Paranormal Women’s Fiction series readers are comparing to Shannon Mayer, K.F. Breene, and Victoria Dannan.

Book 12 was one of the more enjoyable installments in the series. While it continues the overall storyline, it felt fresher with new powers, higher stakes, and some meaningful character growth. I was especially happy that this book actually brought one of the storylines to a conclusion instead of ending with yet another setup for the next installment. That made it feel much more satisfying and renewed my excitement to keep going. I'm still not loving the series 100% because of all the ups and downs, but this was definitely a step in the right direction.
