Well written story. Worth the effort. Listen at 1.2 speed as they have messed with the speed. My other favorites are - he who fights with monsters books and the spellmonger fantasy books. Both of which first novel are free on audible. Or were. I shall be buying the next in this series so the model of giving first book in series for free works! There is a lot of trash litrpg and fantasy out there so it’s a good way to rule out books that are not worth the listen. And wasting a credit.

This book is honestly as close to perfect as a Litrpg can be, I seldom write reviews as I devour so much content but this is a rung above the rest. From the first chapter I was intrigued and by chapter 3 I was hooked, I finished reading/listening to this yesterday and loved it from beginning to end, the progression, the opmc, the characters the rich world. So much so, that I have read the second book on kindle unlimited today during my toil as I couldn't wait until 30/06 for the book to release here! This series is a triumph and I was so disappointed when I read the end of the second book because I want more. This is unique enough whilst still hitting some standard tropes in an elegant way. Simply perfect, my favourite 2 books of this year same level as project hail Mary which is my favourite non Litrpg book of the year! WOW!

This book had an ending. Often in the genre it's left as a to be continued. Thank you for that.

MC power level seems fluctuate from been overpowered to underwhelming. This was extremely confusing at times. I still don't know if he is overpowered or not.

Overall I liked the book as what I would call easy listening. No filler stats or detailed description of skills or other padding. Character sheets used to underscore growth and used well. Book focused on its story. Beginning is a bit weak but once your through that it starts to get better.

Overall this book did enough to convince be to buy book two.

I listen to a lot of LITRPG books and whilst waiting for some to come out I thought I would give this ago and I love it. Some books go way to complex in the theory of the system they are working with making the audible version of the book abit boring and you can loose focus as it takes away from the story it self. This book is an easy and enjoyable listen. The characters are fun. Just give it ago if you want one to listen too.

Very likeable book, a reasonable MC with a system of power diametrically opposed to the world that he is in. Of course it’s an isekai trope so no surprise that the MC has mannerisms that are odd to the natives of the planet, but regardless it didn’t feel forced. It was a pleasant duo ride how invested I got into this book, especially because the world building kept getting bigger and bigger (with regards to both the power levels and the hidden realms). Overall a solid 4.3/5.
