Five complete novels. One epic journey. Countless sacrifices.

It begins with a shocking discovery.

It ends with an impossible choice—one that changes the world forever.

A thousand years ago, the most powerful necromancer the world has ever known was struck down and her empire burned to ash.

Now she's awake—and she remembers everything.

As ancient truths emerge, old enemies return, and dragons take to the skies once more, four unlikely heroes become entwined in a war that spans kingdoms, lost civilizations, and the darkest secrets of their world.

With every truth uncovered, the past refuses to stay buried. With every secret revealed, history itself unravels. And with every victory, the cost grows greater.

As the years pass, strangers become family, love becomes unbreakable, and hope grows harder to hold onto. Because some victories cannot be won through strength alone.

Some can only be earned through sacrifice.

The Mage Saga is a complete epic fantasy series spanning more than 60 hours, featuring unforgettable characters, breathtaking battles, ancient mysteries, astonishing revelations, and a finale listeners will never forget.

This was my first tale from Ken Warner and with a 60 hr runtime it may seem like a lot but it flys by.

The story is very well written and well paced throughout building intrigue through every chapter and book. The characters are well fleshed out and you find yourself rooting for them, & like like J RR Martin Ken does not shy away for killing off characters that will come as a shock but are intrinsic to the plot and flow of the story.

I am stuck at home due to illness and listen to a lot of audio books and can honestly say whilst listening to this series it my mind of said illness completely.

This is an easy listen a great story and I would highly recommend without reservation.

Saga with depth and intrigue!!

I have read quite a number of Ken’s series over the years, this was two firsts for me and I was sceptical about one of them. It was my first audio book and my first science fantasy, it was the latter that I was sceptical of having always preferred science fiction. Well, I am converted, this is a beautifully crafted series, all the twists and turns kept me listening. Ken is a great writer and I will certainly be reading or listening to more science fantasy in the future. If you are a science fantasy fan you must get this, you will not be disappointed!

Mage Saga is brilliantly written!

You see a play length in excess of 50 hours and you may think “I’ll never get to listen to all that” but once you start it gets quite addictive; a great story line with developing characters, unexpected life changes, surprising deaths and powerful action scenes.

A single narrator will be difficult to listen to - certainly not in my experience with this title.

All round, a great title and thoroughly enjoyable.

A saga to relish

I’m a big reader / listener of the fantasy genre and I’m afraid that this one just doesn’t stack up. The premise for the story itself is a well trodden trope, but that in and of itself doesn’t kill it.

The huge problem is that absolute lack of any attempt to describe what’s going on and where they are in any detail, so you feel completely detached from the characters and the world.

I have no understanding of what anyone looks like, how their characters are different from anyone else and what kind of environment they are in! Are the woods light and beautiful? Dark and spooky? Are the castles imposing edifices or beautiful palace types? Just no attempt to draw you into the world that this all takes place in.

Early in the book they have to go and retrieve a significant object. But they just go and come back. All very easy, all lacking in immersion and the weaving detail that any good fantasy author would bring.

And the narrator doesn’t help! Female voices are a falsetto caricature and all the men sound the same. Except one. Oh and all the bad guys have gruff evil voices. So bad it’s funny. Oh, and he talks so fast I’ve had to drop it to 90% speed for him to become intelligible.

I’ve managed about 2 hours of the book but I’m giving up and doing to find something else!

Basic, banal and entirely lacking in detail.
