An enjoyable, fast-paced romantasy that has me wanting to know what happens next. Whilst it uses classic tropes (e.g. trials, enemies to lovers) it felt fresh and unique enough to keep me listening. The duet performance was very well done too.

I 100% binged this book! If you love trials, high stakes, found family and a fast paced read with a dash of spice and yearning then you will love this story! The narrators both did a great job at carrying out the different characters and made the book even more enjoyable!

Great Performance Solidified By A Great Story!

I absolutely flew through this one! One of the most gripping books I’ve listened to in a while.
Loved the found family. Loved the genuinely good trials and all the underlying mystery and plotting that kept me wanting to know what was coming next. I especially loved having an MMC who is actually flawed. Not the usual superficial “flaws” that somehow still make him perfect but real ones that make him complicated, frustrating and much more interesting.
There are also a few characters who are clearly designed to be annoying and hate worthy and they absolutely succeeded .
And finally, the narration, narration, narration! Amanda Leigh Cobb was brilliant and Antony Palmini does it AGAIN. At this point, put that man on a romantasy audiobook and I’m listening .
Super gripping. Great characters. Plenty of intrigue. Fantastic narration. Loved it!

What a great book! I read a lot of fantasy romance books and this one has such a great balance of plot, character development and pace. There are parallels with other popular books, but it stands out on its own too. The audio narration was brilliant and I’m sad that I can’t yet listen to book 2! It left me wanting more.
