What happens when the universe finally answers, and you’re not ready?
Ethan Rowden is a failing podcaster with twenty-three subscribers, a garage full of broken radios, and a habit of spiraling into anxiety at 3 AM.
Then the static talks back.
A voice calling itself Nova-7 (ancient, cosmic, and unexpectedly awkward) announces she’s building an Archive of consciousness. Moments worth remembering. Voices worth preserving.
And she’s chosen Ethan as her witness.
Suddenly Ethan is connected to Laika, the Soviet space dog sent into orbit in 1957 and never brought home. He hears her last thoughts, her confusion… the heartbreaking trust she carried into the stars.
But the universe doesn’t hand out proof. The internet calls him a liar. And Ethan is left trying to hold onto the one real thing that’s ever happened to him.
A quirky, surreal, heartfelt sci-fi novella about resonance, memory, cosmic frequencies, and one overwhelmed human learning what it means to witness something no one else believes.
