It's great when the enemies are actually enemies, and the stakes are high. Severin is a villain with soul, which makes him a fascinating opponent and a vehicle for Aurelie to question her worldview. The angels and demons setup makes for very fun reading too

A really beautifully written story with twists and turns aplenty and lots of characters & plot to get invested in. The two MMC's are perfection, wringing a roller coaster of emotions from the reader and the FMC. I loved everything about this book , including the narration. Will definitely be on tenterhooks for Book 2.

Enjoyed this from start to finish. Story flowed well and narrators all did a brilliant job (it’s dual rather than duet but all were great with their chapters).
I loved the characters and how they grew and intertwined throughout -looking forward to book 2!

Such a smooth transition into adult fantasy

It took a little while to get going but then the story became riveting. I found some of the characters hard to keep track of but it didn’t take away from the story. The ending balances a nice line of keeping you hooked to read more but also feeling satisfying. I can’t wait to read the next one.
