About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

A fast-paced, action-adventure thriller for readers of The Martian.

ONE SMALL STEP. ONE FATAL MISTAKE.

On the barren plains of the Kazakh Steppe, Alyssa Wright stands on the brink of the most ambitious space flight in history: a one-way mission to Mars. But when disaster strikes, she begins to uncover a conspiracy that threatens her life - and the lives of everyone on board.

In Hong Kong, a coder vanishes from his home, leaving nothing behind but a cryptic warning and his cat. Pursued by violent forces, his sister finds herself on the run, in possession of the one thing capable of saving him.

Amidst a dark vacuum of nothingness, as the Argo spaceship hurtles toward Mars, the crew realise that someone is sabotaging the mission from the inside. Every second brings them closer to catastrophe, and time is running out.

Across Earth and space, three stories collide in a breathless thriller that asks: what is the price of progress, and who must pay it?

Charlotte Robinson is a story genius!
With the tension of a launch-pad countdown and the intrigue of an international spy thriller, Mars One is an explosive debut novel that’s out of this world. I genuinely felt I’d left earth behind and was heading towards Mars with the characters… that’s the litmus test of great writing. Charlotte Robinson is one to watch.
Explosive... an immersive near-future space thriller.
Epic in scope and wildly entertaining, Mars One is a rocket-fuelled debut that kept me glued to the pages and constantly guessing. Perfect for fans of The Martian and Gravity, I absolutely loved it!
Mars One is a brilliant new addition to the ‘don’t go to Mars’ genre spawned by Andy Weir’s The Martian. Part LeCarré, part Armageddon it’s one of those books that manages to range all over the map and never lose pace or sight of the story. Deftly written, tightly plotted, the perfect book to read on holiday whilst congratulating yourself with every page that you did not book a ticket on a rocket to anywhere.
