Meet Jim Greene.
An ordinary detective constable trying 'not' to solve a murder.

The remote and isolated Cornish island of Gallymay was meant to be the perfect place for a break. But things don’t quite go to plan when Jim stumbles across a body on his first day.

Which is the last thing he needs. But it’s fine. He’ll call Devon and Cornwall Police. They’ll sort it out.

Except the storm, and the island, have other ideas. Cut off from the mainland during a mid-winter storm, Jim finds himself reluctantly thrust into a murder investigation, assisted by a ragtag group of well-meaning locals, in a chaotic, heartfelt, and often laugh-out-loud “almost” cosy mystery.

Told through police notebooks, witness statements, interview transcripts and body-worn video logs, Murder Crime on Gallymay blends pitch-perfect policing, with laugh-out-loud moments, heartwarming friendships, and a mystery that keeps you guessing until the final page.©2025 R. R R Haywood cannot write a bad book! And this one is no exception. You instantly fall in love with his characters and miss them like family when the book ends. I cannot wait for the next in the series! It’s so delightfully light hearted and yet poignant with chuckle out loud bits. And the plot moves quick enough to keep those virtual pages turning! The narrator is also a genius. Five stars all the way from me! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Simply brilliant!

Fantastic listen. Was really good hearing how due process works in real life while wrapped up in an incredibly enjoyable and funny murder mystery. Gethin Anthony the narrator was particularly good and as always RR Haywood has delivered an imaginative tale full of mystery, suspense laced with a great big dash of humour

Iv listened to a few R.R.Haywood Books and this was a difftent genre. It was well written like his others with the famous hunour. Haywood has a special gift in developing characters anf makes you miss them once the book is over. The narration was absoloutly superb!! unreal that it was 1 person who done all the voices, truely talented narrator! 100%, worth a listen, a light hearted crime , with fab characters and laugh out loud moments! especially with the egg sandwhiches and deodrant bit! 🤣
