In the second book of this hilarious xianxia series, a loser turned martial arts master embraces his badass role . . . until he screws it up . . . as usual.
Following his death by pie-eating contest, pudgy, pathetic putz Zack found himself in the body of the recently killed demonic sect elder known as Slifer, supreme elder of the Black Rose Sect. Slifer was revered by many and feared by all, and under Zack's management he was going to kick some serious ass—even if the System really had it in for him.
After a botched mass-assassination attempt by the rival Black Death Sect, Slifer's decided to pay a friendly visit to the other evil sects for the sake of peace. In other words, he's planning to dominate them by threat of a horrific, painful death and then convert them all into nice guys.
Slifer's also sent his young avatar, Zack, to the Northern Region to make a breakthrough to the Core Formation Realm. But the secretive locals have their own rules, and they don't like invading outsiders stirring up trouble—or searching for the legendary Realm's Blessing, which grants unmatched power.
Most importantly, Slifer must continue to keep anyone from finding out that behind his sinister, savage facade lies the heart, mind, and soul of a total dork. Because if they do, being brutally slaughtered will be the least of his problems. Truly, doing evil for the greater good is such thankless work.

Narrator Johnathan McClain brings all the characters, fights and humor alive with great gusto and aplomb. Love listening to his delivery in the first and here even the new and returning nasally, whiny, bratty characters are given their due.
I'm always chuckling at his pronunciation of the word "body" for some reason.
Book 3 can't come soon enough, the stakes have always been ridiculously impossible and with this epilogue it's reached atrociously dark soulish difficulty.
Thankfully Silfer and Co, have plot armor, 4th wall breaking insights and the trusty system but more importantly the power of 'demonic' friendship to see them through.
I simply love a 'fake it till you make it', ridiculous shenanigans ensuing at rapid pace and being out of your depths story and this one is delivering on all levels.
Thanks for penning this gem of a cultivation/system litrpg Kalzara.
Excellent Balance of OP MC, Comedy and Face-slapping. Kalzara is crafting a Magnum Opus here

This book is decent, though not quite as good as the first one, IMO. There are two main issues I have with this book, the first being that the whole "sealed realm" portion kinda felt like a filler arc to me. There's a villain there with his own evil scheme, but even if he pulls it off and escapes that realm, it won't really matter, because everyone sealed there is weaker than the top-tier cultivators from the main realm, so success for him would just mean escaping then being immediately ganged up on and killed afterwards.
The second thing that bugs me about this book is that the protagonist continues relying on consumables from his System shop. I didn't mind that in the first book because he was too poor to afford anything good, but by this book he has enough points that he ought to be spending them on advancing his own cultivation and getting strong. Instead, every fight scene featuring him continues to only be about how many single-use items he has on hand. It definitely gets old after a while.
Still, this book is far better than book 3.
Great Narrator, Decent Story
