Four innocent college students were murdered in their home.

In the ensuing investigation, the local police and FBI did a lot right. But what did they get wrong?

We’ve learned about the four heartbroken families – the Mogens, Goncalves, Kernodles, and Chapins.

We have the backstory for Bryan Kohberger, brilliant graduate student, loner, apparent incel.

Now, after over 300 exclusive interviews and in-depth reporting, James Patterson and prize-winning journalist Vicky Ward finally have some answers.

Amazing one off the best

The investigation into the tragic murders in Moscow, Idaho, (prior to the murderer’s guilty plea), is presented with great detail, offering an informative account that paints a fuller picture of Maddie, Kaylee, Ethan, and Xana as individuals, rather than merely as victims. Overall it was excellent, however, I struggled with the narrator's persistent emphasis on male voices, which I found somewhat inappropriate given the sensitive nature of the subject matter. In this instance, I would have preferred a more straightforward reading to allow the seriousness of the content to resonate more profoundly.

Compelling & Informative

The case is still as shocking today as it was the day it came to light. This book uncovers the tragic event and keeps the victims front and centre with lots of inclusion from the families of the four young people that sadly lost their lives. Listened to it through twice it was that good and full of the facts not gossip. It’s almost unputdownable for the ears!

Thorough and insightful

It feels disrespectful to the victims to say that this was an amazing book given the content so instead I will say that it was well written, covered a lot of detail and was beautifully written. Rest in peace Maddie, Kaylee, Ethan and Xana ❤️

Heartbreaking

As a UK citizen I saw snippets of this dreadfully sad story on the news and felt I should listen to understand the whole story.
Although we don’t get to hear the trial as the book was finished before then, we all know the outcome.
You know it’s going to be expertly written if it’s by James Patterson.
Such a sad case, this book is very respectful and mindful of the victims families.

Perfectly researched and beautifully narrated.
