Introducing the instant Sunday Times bestselling Crossroads of Ravens, a brand-new Witcher novel in the groundbreaking epic fantasy series that inspired the blockbuster video games and hit Witcher Netflix show.

'Old-school fantasy done right' SFF WORLD

Witchers are not born. They are made.

Before he was the White Wolf or the Butcher of Blaviken, Geralt of Rivia was simply a fresh graduate of Kaer Morhen, stepping into a world that neither understands nor welcomes his kind.

And when an act of naïve heroism goes gravely wrong, Geralt is only saved from the noose by Preston Holt, a grizzled witcher with a buried past and an agenda of his own.

Under Holt's guiding hand, Geralt begins to learn what it truly means to walk the Path - to protect a world that fears him, and to survive in it on his own terms. But as the line between right and wrong begins to blur, Geralt must decide to become the monster everyone expects, or something else entirely.

This is the story of how legends are made - and what they cost.

Andrzej Sapkowski's Witcher series is a global phenomenon with over thirty million copies sold, translated into over forty languages worldwide. Crossroads of Ravens is a new standalone novel that every Witcher fan has been waiting for, following fantasy's most beloved monster hunter, Geralt of Rivia, on his first steps towards becoming a legend.

A wonderful insight into the beginnings of one of fantasy's most beloved and iconic characters, Geralt of Rivia. This is a great read. Immersive, exciting, and emotional. Crossroads of Ravens is not to be missed
Geralt is one of the great characters in all of fantasy. Whether you're coming from the games, TV show, or are simply new to the Witcher universe - these books are absolutely worth the read
Anyone wishing to learn more about Geralt's early years will be pleased to see the Witcher in action again . . . This is a gift for series fans
A book brimming with energy and bleak humour
Fans of the Witcher series (as well as the Netflix adaptation) will enjoy the opportunity to experience Geralt's earlier days, and the stand-alone story will welcome new readers
Crossroads of Ravens offers an engaging story that hits hard thematically and explores how 'monstrosity' is a socially-constructed category. Sapkowski is a true master of fantasy literature, and Crossroads of Ravens is his latest example of his writing prowess
I had an enjoyable experience with Crossroads of Ravens, returning to this exquisite dark fantasy world. It was a good standalone reading experience and I enjoyed reading about a young and flawed Geralt in these early adventures. For potential readers who are already familiar with Geralt, either through the TV series or video games, this is a great place to start your reading adventure
Crossroads of Ravens is an ideal starter novel for anyone wondering what the fuss is about . . . Crossroads of Ravens is a great book to start your Witcher journey. It is well written, fast-paced and accessible . . . Old-school fantasy done right
This is not only a good book, but arguably one of the strongest and most focused in the entire Witcher series. If you enjoy The Witcher, then Crossroads of Ravens is an essential read
I loved this book so much. It is definitely going to be one of my top 10 reads for the year 2025 . . . And whatever one's level of exposure to The Witcher franchise: only the TV show, games (all/only Witcher3) all the books, or only some of the books, or any combination of the above or even none of the above - this is a perfect point to jump straight in. It is a proper standalone tale

If you're a fan of the Witcher books, this is a welcome addition to the cannon. It is a story of 18 year old Geralt's first adventures as a Witcher. Whilst young Geralt is a brilliant swordsman and has his elixirs and signs he is naive and becomes a pawn in a tale of revenge.
The story is a little more grounded than that of the later epic fantasy we see Geralt involved in.
The performance of narrator Peter Kenny is excellent. He brings to life the younger Geralt flawlessly, the youthful nuances shining through in his voice work. Recommended.

An interesting new addition to the witcher saga. Although a bit too many Latin expressions and lacking detail in other areas. As someone else has mentioned you need to listen at 0.85 speed, otherwise it feels like the whole narration was sped up (maybe a thechnical problem).

Interesting

Have to say I loved the depiction of a less experienced, somewhat nieve Geralt. Really enjoyed the gradual developments, as Geralt learns tough but important lessons about life on "the path".

Different yet recognisable
