Step through the portal and into a wholesome journey of self-discovery. A cozy fantasy adventure filled with making new friends, facing our mistakes, and figuring out who we are truly meant to be. All while enjoying a few drinks along the way.
Not everyone is destined to save the world...
Emma Corvus was the best witch hunter in the kingdom, until her own magic appeared, uninvited, in a glass of spoiled wine she unwittingly restored. She can't return home, and the life she lived was never truly hers.
She's offered only one uncertain path forward: a portal to other worlds.
Her allies? A ragtag crew she never could have imagined. There's Vespa, a fairy who can sense exactly what people need; Professor Aldrich, a scientist stranded a universe away from home; and strangest of all, Demon Box, a snarky machine that opens the portals and never stops talking.
World by world, she chases the dream she was never allowed to have: to hang up her blades and become a bartender. But more importantly, to build a life that feels like her own.
A cozy found-family adventure across the multiverse, with portals, drinks that are literally magic, and real recipes inside. Perfect for readers of Legends & Lattes, Cursed Cocktails, and Can't Spell Treason Without Tea.

Unfortunately, somewhere around the middle it started to lose momentum for me. What began as a fresh concept gradually felt slower and more drawn out, and I found my attention wandering. Despite several attempts to keep going, I eventually decided to DNF. Stopped around the point where she was getting there but STILL hadn't become a bartender yet.
That said, I don't regret giving it a try. There is a lot to like here, particularly the original idea and the early world-building. I can absolutely see why many readers enjoy it, and if you prefer a slower-paced story you may have a very different experience.
Based on what I listened to, I'd actually give it 2.5 stars. A strong start and plenty of promise, but it ultimately didn't manage to hold my interest to the end.
Unfortunately, should have been right up my street
