Join Lady Carnarvon as she reveals untold stories from past residents of Highclere Castle and an intimate glimpse into the daily rhythms and timeless traditions of one of Britain’s most iconic stately homes.

Built in a bygone era, Highclere Castle and its surrounding five-thousand-acre estate is a place where history breathes through its walls and verdant landscapes. From the grandeur of Victorian architecture to the whispers of Anglo-Saxon roots, every stone and tree has a story to tell throughout its sweeping grounds.

Lady Carnarvon shares tales of past residents, from Lady Almina's legendary 1920s parties to the enigmatic ghosts that roam the halls of the castle.

With the passing months and seasons, Lady Carnarvon reveals what it truly means to live and work in this extraordinary home. From gardening, entertaining, exploring the outdoors with their eight dogs and opening the gates to a film crew - for many weeks and seasons - culminating in the latest Downton Abbey film.

Highclere is where history, nature, and community weave together in a tapestry as rich as the castle itself.

I loved this! Lady Fiona is a master story teller and I’ve enjoyed all her other books but this is different- it’s more ‘her and Geordie- Lord C’s) story. We see how Highclere was, and why, then see how it functions today with such a central, amazing team. The challenges faced and overcome alongside decisions, people (especially tales of HRH HM Queen Elizabeth II) are so interesting yet told diplomatically. Highclere is a home once more but far more than that. I will be rejoining Friends of Highclere and visiting again with greater insight. If only we could sit and chat with Lady C then wander the castle hearing her tell more! I hope, in time, she writes a part deux as I’m sure there are many more tales to tell and her stewardship is only just really gaining momentum. Thank you! Highly recommended.

This gave such an interesting insight into the fascinating history of Highclere Castle which many of us think as Downton Abbey. Beautifully narrated by the Countess of Canarvan. Had me hooked from start to finish, loved it!
