About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a new enemies-to-lovers college romance.
I’m trapped by the devil.
What started as an innocent mistake turned into actual hell.
In my defense, I didn’t mean to get involved with a mafia prince.
But he barged through my defenses anyway.
He stalked me from the shadows and stole me from the life I know.
Jeremy Volkov might appear charming, but a true predator lurks inside.
He’s out to possess, own, and keep me.
But I have no plans to stick around in his blood-soaked world.
Or so I think.

Usual complaints about the narrators accents at times which can be grating. Never enjoy when they try and do the male/female voice rather than just have a proper duo but wasn’t too bad this one- other than the male saying Jeremy like ‘Jimmy’
Best yet

By far the best in the series!!
Jeremy Volkov is this dark, mysterious, swoon-worthy and incredibly sexy man who is just as possessive and obsessed with Cecily as he is with the rest of his loved ones. I thought Killian was addictive and captivating but I was wrong!
We start off not knowing that much about Jeremy, he is like mysterious leader of the Heavens and future leader of the Bratva in New York and of course the older brother of Anni. However as we progress through the book we get to know more about Jeremy, his secrets and his childhood. It allows us to see more under the cold and hard exterior and see him be this sweet and protective person for the ones he loves and just craves love and understanding. Yes he is psychotic with his ways and his very overprotective of those he holds dear and close to his heart. He can be bkunt and stafughtforward and never lies and always follows through and is certibyl someone you do not want to anger.
Compared to his love interest, Cecily Knight who is the sweetest, most caring friend that you can come across. Howver she has proved to be quite the dark horse espeically with her fantasies and interests. We find out further about her past and the trauma she has been suffering in silence as to avoid troubling the ones she loves. Her strength and loyalty makes you want to root for her as well as her fierceness and unwavering strength. It’s clear that Jeremy finally allows Cecily to embrace a side she was scared to let free and does not shame or mock her for it.
Yes they are opposites but as they say opposites attract and they are perfect for each other. They help each other get over both their childhood traumas whilst exploring both their dark sides and Jeremy embracing his softer side with Cecily.
What I also loved if the side of Adrian we got to see towards the end of the book. How open and honest him and Jeremy are with each other and the advice he gives to Jeremy, his son whom is experiencing his first true heartbreak. It melted my heart!
The Best in the Series so Far!
