About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a new standalone enemies-to-lovers, marriage of convenience romance.

I fell for the villain.
It happened back when I was a clueless girl.
But he ruthlessly broke my heart and trapped it in a jar.
Since then, I’ve sworn to hate him to the end of my days.
Eli King might be a savage devil, but I’m out of his way. And league.
That is until I wake up in a hospital and find him holding my hand.
He tells me the words that change my life forever.
“We got married two years ago, Mrs. King.”
So I set out to investigate how I landed myself into this marriage.
Turns out, my memories are darker than my present.
I thought I was ready for the hurricane.
I thought I could handle his soulless eyes and cold shoulder.
I thought wrong.
Nothing can stop my husband.
Not the secrets surrounding us.
Not the hatred between us.
Not even me.

Loved everything I heard and read, I wish I could hear it again for the first time.

The plot loved everything about it, how deep Rina went into research for the mental issues these characters have

Honestly fantastic. Rina Kent has swiftly become a favoured author, but when paired with the Shane East and Zara Hampton-Brown, it’s only made better…absolutely cried at the end lol

3.8 ⭐️ I did really like this book in the series, whilst it isn’t my favourite I was stitched into Eli’s and Eva’s story.

What I liked about it is there is this mystery around Eva and her health. As far as we know from the start of the series, Eva is this wild party girl that has a deep hatred for Eli King, but with no explanation as to why other than a potential rejection on his part. However this book explored more into Eva and we find it that like most FMC’s in this series she too harbours a secret and trauma. She suffers from psychosis, stemming from her paternal family and is in constant medication and seeing a therapist. We start off the book with the book being set around the same timeline as the other books and then a few chapters the story now takes place two years later and seems Eva has been invoking some sort of accident and suffers from amnesia without knowing she married her mortal enemy, Eli King, a man she would have never dreamed of marrying.

After that we explore more into Eva and Eli’s relationship, why they hate each other, especially Eva, how they came around to marrying each other and the status of Eva’s mental health. We also get updates on some of the other characters within the series and where they are two years later after their books ended, which was nice especially the updates on Jeremy and Niko 😍. We find that there is more to their marriage and the reason why they agree to marry each other and around Eva’s incident.

We also see more to Eli, yes, like Landon and Killian, he too has psychotic tendencies and there is a question around whether he can live anyone or enter into a relationship that isn’t purely sexual. We see more of the pressures onto him as a son in the King empire as well as his obsession with Eva since uni.

What I liked about the book is how it ended, this is a big spoiler but Eva seeks help for her mental health and psychosis. Instead of Eli forcing her to stay with him and him counting to help her without intervention and being admitted, he allows her to do things her way and allows her to be in charge of her own life. She finally gets the choice to do things for her and get the necessary help she clearly needed for day one to get better.

3.8⭐️ really Enjoyed it and Would Defo Reocmmend Anyone to Add to their TBR’s!
