About this listen

In the run up to 2016, I was a senior manager making what I now know were dozens of mistakes every day, but fixing them with effort and determination, and stress. It nearly killed me, but as my dad says, "experience is worth what it costs you", and that experience was worth a lot.

After I got out of hospital, I studied everything I could about projects, agile, design thinking, psychology. facilitation human behaviours, and anything else I thought would be useful to people like me. I figured out how to simplify things down and explain them to my team and stakeholders and went from being "just another" project manager working 60 hours a week, to becoming a leader in a major PLC with an empowered team who had amazing opportunities, buy-in and motivation.

After 3 years as a Chief Information Officer, coaching guiding my team to take on more and more responsibility (and get the promotions they deserved), I was able to manage my diary properly, and I went to a 4-day working week and started thinking about sharing the techniques more widely. 6 months later, I left that role and now I teach the biggest companies in Ireland how to simplify their projects and work efforts, empower their teams and generally reduce stress and achieve better outcomes all round. Many of the approaches and ideas are incredibly simple to learn and you can start using them immediately.

With stories and insights that will create several "ah-ha" moments, a lot of problems you'll recognise and even a few giggles, I hope you'll enjoy this as both entertainment and a learning experience. I guarantee that you'll take away many valuable ideas. If you don't - ping me on LinkedIn (I'm easy to find) and I'll give you double your money back.
