About this listen
Brought to you by Penguin.
From USA Today bestselling author Rina Kent comes a new dark romance about a villain and his new obsession.
I caught the attention of a monster.
I didn’t ask for it.
Didn’t even see it coming.
But the moment I do, it’s too late.
Killian Carson is a predator wrapped in sophisticated charm.
He’s cold-blooded, manipulative, and savage.
The worst part is that no one sees his devil side.
I do.
And that will cost me everything.
I run, but the thing about monsters?
They always chase.

Bit of a let down after so much hype

Sebastian York was the perfect choice to narrate Killian. He captures that razor-thin line between charm and psychosis flawlessly, bringing Killian’s beautifully deranged personality to life in a way that’s almost unsettling (in the best way).
This is a wild ride from start to finish, but those first few chapters? Absolutely unhinged. Definitely check your trigger warnings — seriously — but if you’re good with them, strap in for your first taste of the Legacy of Gods offspring. It’s dark, it’s intense, and it does not apologise.
Hooked right from the beginning

Absolutely loved this book

I liked the messy complicated wider friendship groups and world building (despite the issues mentioned below) there is definitely a solid foundation for this world and I just hope that the series improves from here because I feel like this first couple didn't do the series justice.
Also as a British person I really really struggled that a book set in Britain has absolutely zero idea of British language, ecology or culture, most of which could be solved with a quick Google. I mean fireflies in the UK?!? Every time the narrator said maafia I cringed. I laughed when half the students were in their '4th' year at uni (we only have 3 years in England) and lots.of other really basic mistakes that could have easily been avoided.
finally could romance authors (especially dark romance) please please stop writing unrealistic or anatomically impossible spice?!? why is it even necessary it doesn't make it hotter.
Really wanted to love it but...
