About this listen

Brought to you by Penguin.

The 40th Alex Delaware novel from the No. 1 New York Times bestselling master of suspense.

In the middle of the night, Detective Lieutenant Milo Sturgis is called to a Westside hospital. A young woman has been left dead at the entrance to the E.R.

Milo soon identifies the victim as an aspiring actress, and evidence points him in the direction of a Hollywood misfit with an arrest record.

Before they can arrest the suspect, however, he is found shot dead on his balcony.

Milo calls brilliant psychologist Alex Delaware to help unpick the case. But as more bodies appear, linked only by the rifle used to kill them, the more complicated it becomes.

It is clear there are darker forces at work. Can Alex and Milo uncover the truth before it’s too late?

Another great listen. Milo & Alex doing what they do best. Can't wait until the next one.

Brilliant

Tired story. Time to end this series Have loved these characters, but have fun their course

Good performance

I am fan of the series in general, but this seemed to be something produced just to get it done. Alex seems to be less a psychologist and just more an amateur detective (doing it better than the police…) Also: am I the only one who wishes for less detail in the description of the characters’ looks, garments etc?

Same old, same old

Explains numerous atrocities and gives details of what seems like professional murders, what is the link? The solution is quite surprising and thoroughly enjoyable.

Novel approach

Something went wrong. Please try again in a few minutes.

I’ve read/listened to all the books in the series and this was ok but the motive of the perpetrator in the story was a bit scrappy and tenuous, it seemed as if it could have had more thought. The narrator is good apart from when he does Detectives Moe and Sean as he makes them sound like Bullwinkle.

Ok but a bit scrappy.
