The Curators—Joe Ramsey, Grim, Lilli Spicer, Durango, and Lucius—have set up a headquarters in Richmond, London.

Joe's new life becomes complicated when he learns that there's another grimoire out there, one that the Iron Order will do anything to obtain. Even leveling London.

But Joe likes London.

With his special ability to absorb magic and redirect it as he wills, he might just save it.

if you like Septimus Heap then this is a similar level of fast paced storyline with entertaining characters - suitable for the young, and young-at-heart alike. The narration is excellent. I'll be listening to the third book very soon.

Great narrator and entertaining story

Took a long time to get anywhere and, having got there, I’m not sure if it was worth the journey….

Not sure

I was drawn to this series as it was recommended due to me previously reading the Rivers of London series. I would agree that if you like Aaronovitch you will probably enjoy these books.
They are well read and the narrator brings the characters to life.
One thing that has let me down and made me consider whether it is worth carrying on, is the length of each book and lack of conclusion. The first was short but introduced the characters and ended at a point that made sense. This second book didn’t develop the characters and just finished suddenly, mid storyline. It wasn’t as if some parts had tied up leaving the deeper background story to continue, it literally just ended. I feel that the publisher has taken 1 book and split it into sections to either extract more money from the reader or because the author got to the deadline before he completed the book. Either way I feel a bit robbed of half a story.

Great story but…..
