Ripped from my mates. Taken by an evil who has it out for us all. And it’s all I can do to hold on, just hoping that they will find me before it’s too late. Because I’m in the clutches of someone who only wants one thing…power. Power that only I can give them. And I’m a second away from breaking.
But my captor is revealing secrets. Ones that have the potential to bring my world crumbling down. And not just mine but the entire dragon species’, too. Now, we’re racing against the clock to keep those secrets buried and me safe. But our enemies are circling. And sometimes the deadliest are the ones you least expect…

Great narration :) Wished it was duet tho..
Wished we knew more about the dragon world, the powers Hayden got and stuff.
Ok overall, but rushed storyline.
Bit rushed

While this final instalment brings a nice, light conclusion to the trilogy, it ultimately felt lacking compared to other series with similar "urban fantasy/hidden supernatural" tropes. The premise had so much potential—a human girl discovering her tragic past (her family being murdered at a young age, landing her in the care system) and realizing she is actually something much more powerful. Unfortunately, the execution didn't quite hit the mark for a three-book series.
Plot & World-Building Left on the Surface
For a world centered around dragons, the lore and history felt incredibly hollow. There was a real missed opportunity to dive into the rich history of dragon traits and communities. Furthermore, the school environment felt entirely isolated; for a supernatural world hidden from humans, it didn't feel believable. Aside from one minor character, there was barely any presence from other supernatural species or the wider community to make the world feel alive and stakes feel real.
Character Scaling & Training Arcs
One of my biggest gripes was the main character’s transition into a dragon. In similar urban fantasy books, a massive shift like this involves intense, satisfying training sequences where characters hone their skills—especially when endangered bond mates are involved. Here, when her dragon appears it's supposed to be a huge thing but doesn't feel like it is to me. Additionally, despite her being pre-med, that unique trait rarely factored into her actions or problem-solving. In all her initial strength suggested we would get more of a sassy maybe deadpan type character from her and by the end it just felt lacking, we get snips of that character but again it's there and overshadowed by something else.
The Romance, Groveling, and Multiple POVs
As a polyamorous/reverse harem romance, I needed much more depth from the relationships. The connection with the final 2 mates felt rushed, and there was a distinct lack of satisfying groveling to earn her trust. While we got a glimpse of the guys, the story desperately needed deeper, more frequent dual or multiple points of view to flesh out all the characters and make the bond feel earned. The banter, which should have carried the dialogue, frequently fell flat for me, there were moments but in a three book series there should have been more moments, ones I could quote or want to bookmark... there wasn't.
The Spice and Final Verdict
The spice in this book is definitely there, but it still feels average.
The ending was just a HEA, but again just okay. Didn't need to be satisfying as the series was not very taxing emotionally, so it closed off just fine.
Like the author's previous linked series, it’s the kind of story that is easily forgotten once you close the book. It’s a perfectly fine, light read, but it doesn't quite deserve 4 stars, more like 3.5 stars. It has a permanent place as a "light favorite" author for when I want something easy, but it won't be a series I eagerly rush to re-read.
Light, Average, could have been 1 big standalone book not 3 book series.

Oh gosh where do I even begin with this. The cliffhanger after book 2 was true Tessa style and broke all our hearts. Then as always you think things are getting better before your heart gets ripped out again. There is something about the way Tessa writes that never fails to draw me in. I’ve read all of her books multiple times and honestly this was the best series finale so far. She just keeps getting better and better. Hayden is a fantastic FMC, I loved seeing her grow and I was squealing when she got the chance to defend her guys 🤩.
The men. Oooh what to say about these…
The grumpy entrepreneur/alpha
The cinnamon roll
The misunderstood one
The defender
The teacher 🥵
Each of them has a special place in my heart but king of the book definitely goes to Mads. Oh boy. I won’t spoil it for you all but I will say the wait is worth it.
I am chomping at the bit for the next series and that teaser at the end was just plain mean 😭😂
”You came in and smashed my world apart. Took my ordered existence and turned it on its head. But I wouldn’t want it any other way.”
The narration was wonderful. I loved how individual the guys were and I’m so glad I took the time to listen ♥️
😵 Tessa. What. Was. That. 😵
